Everything to Know About Michelle Williams's Reported Fiancé Thomas Kail

On Tuesday Dec. 31, People reported that actress Michelle Williams is engaged to director Thomas Kail. The report also claims that Williams is pregnant.

The two worked together on Fosse/Verdon where both nabbed several awards including an Emmy for Best Actress and for Best Director in a Limited Series. They also received 2020 Golden Globe nominations for Best Actress, and Best Mini Series.

While this year might be a big one for Kail, the director is no stranger to the awards circuit. Not only had he previously won an Emmy for Grease: Live, he's also been nominated and won several Tony's for his work on Broadway.

In 2008, he began some of his more notable work on Broadway directing Lin Manuel Miranda's In the Heights. Then, in 2015 Kail went on to direct one of Miranda's most popular plays of the decade, Hamilton. He was awarded the Kennedy Center Honors for his work on that play just last year.

More recently, in 2019, he was cited as the creator, director and producer on a new hip-hop and comedy inspired play titled Freestyle Love Supreme.

As for his television career, Kail's knowledge of the theater made him the perfect fit to direct Fosse/Verdon, a show about the lives of Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon, two of Broadway's most prolific players. The show was praised for both its accuracy and respect it gave the profession.

When it comes to his personal life, People also reported that Kail was married to stage actress Angela Christian, and the two divorced about eight months ago. Though we don't know how long him and Williams have been dating, the last time he and Christian were seen together was in December 2018.

With the Golden Globes coming up later this week, it's possible that we will get an appearance –and possibly some clarification– from Kail and Williams on the red carpet.
