Emma Watson Returns to Social Media After Nine Months to Address Engagement Rumors

Emma Watson has been keeping to herself lately and spending some one-on-one time with a very special man. That's right, Emma is cuffed, and the object of her admiration is the super cute Leo Robinton. They've stayed pretty private thus far, but we've gathered some info on the guy who has stole Emma's heart.

1. They aren't engaged

Back in February, there were reports that Emma was taking a step back from acting in order to spend more time with her boyfriend. According to the Daily Mail, she'd "gone underground, she is settling down with Leo. They're laying low. Maybe she wants a family." There were even reports he popped the question and the site called Leo her "rumored fiancé." Now, though, we know neither of these reports are true.

Emma returned to social media for the first time in nine months to speak out about these rumors. The actress wrote a message to her fans, saying, "Rumours about whether I’m engaged or not, or whether my career is 'dormant or not' are ways to create clicks each time they are revealed to be true or untrue."

She then reassured her fans, "If I have news - I promise I’ll share it with you."

"In the mean time please assume no news from me just means I’m quietly spending the pandemic the way most people are - failing to make sourdough bread (!), caring for my loved ones and doing my best not to spread a virus that is still affecting so many people," she continued.

She ended her note by sending love to her fans and thanking those working hard to stay safe.

Back when the rumors of Emma's retirement first came out in February, they were initially shut down by her manager, Jason Weinberg. "Emma's social media accounts are dormant but her career isn't," he told Entertainment Weekly in a statement.

Emma hasn't released a new movie since 2019's Little Women and according to her IMDB, she doesn't have anything coming up. Hopefully, though, this statement means she will be back on our screens soon.

As for the engagement rumors, they were initially sparked when the actress was spotted with a ring on her left ring finger. While it seems like Emma and Leo are still going strong, it sounds like they aren't engaged just yet.

2. He's a businessman.

We don't know too much about Leo, but according to The Sun, he is a 31-year-old businessman from Los Angeles.

3. They were first spotted out together in October 2019.

The Daily Mail first broke the news of the couple over a year ago, when the pair was seen kissing in London. At the time, Leo was still regarded as a "mystery man," though his identity was later confirmed.

4. Their relationship was confirmed in April 2020.

Months after they were first spotted out together, The Daily Mail confirmed their relationship, and finally identified Emma's BF as Leo. A source told the site that "Emma and Leo did everything in their power to keep their relationship private," which is probably why we haven't heard too much about them over the past year.

5. They're very serious.

Apparently, things are getting quite serious between Emma and Leo and a source told The Daily Mail that he has met the actress' parents just a few months into dating.

6. Leo isn't on social media.

After his identity became public, Leo reportedly left all forms of social media "in an attempt to protect their romance," a source told The Daily Mail. Since then, he has not returned, but he does have a private Instagram account followed by Emma, though it has no posts.

7. He has lots of siblings.

According to The Daily Mail, Leo has a big family complete with a twin brother, Archer, an older brother Charlie, 35, and two sisters, Lily, 26, and Daisy, 33.

In January 2017, Leo joined Daisy at the Women's March in Washington D.C. "Proud of my little bro for trekking across the country to support women's rights @theresleo #EmpowerWomen #WomensMarchDC," she wrote on a photo from the event.
