It feels weird to say the Kardashians are coming back because it doesn’t feel like they left! Thanks to Instagram and Snapchat, we all kept keeping up with the Kardashian-Jenners after their flagship E! reality show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, ended its 20-season run in June 2021. But if you prefer your Kardashian Kontent in the form of slick, glossy, expertly produced episodes of television, you’ll want to check out their new project with Hulu. Here’s everything we know about the new Kardashian x Hulu TV show so far.

What is the Kardashians’ Hulu show called?

Obviously, Keeping Up With the Kardashians was an awesomely clever and instantly iconic title. But for their Hulu series, the fam is keeping things simple and minimalist in the name department, simply calling the new show The Kardashians.

When does The Kardashians premiere on Hulu?

Hulu officially announced the show’s release date, and it will hit the streaming service on April 14! Get ready for the Kardashians to be back on the silver screen like never before. Hulu posted the announcement on Instagram with part of the caption saying, “Shatter all expectations.”

Then, on New Year’s Eve, Hulu went ahead and dropped the first teaser trailer for the Kardashians’ new show.

In February, Hulu dropped another teaser trailer for the series that contained a few buzzwords/clues that hint at what the show will focus on: Glamour. Power. Fame. Family. Oh, and according to Kendall Jenner at least, we “have no idea what’s coming” in the series. So there’s that.

How many episodes will there be?

Get this: Not only will Hulu release two seasons of the show, but there will be a total of 40 episodes between the seasons, according to Variety. TBD on if that means there will be a clean split of 20 episodes in each season, but that doesn’t seem too far-fetched. Some of the episodes may look a little different from scenes in KUWTK, though, because the cast did a lot of filming separately as opposed to in large group environments, Variety reported.

Who will be on The Kardashians on Hulu?

When the Kardashians’ deal with Hulu was announced in December 2020, Disney (which owns a majority stake in Hulu) confirmed that Kris Jenner and all five of her daughters—Kourtney, Kim, and Khloé Kardashian as well as Kendall and Kylie Jenner—were signed on for the new show. Some other members of the Kardashian inner circle have also been confirmed (like Scott Disick, who is reportedly making bank to appear but who is notably absent in the teasers), while others are still up in the air. Kanye West did film a few scenes for the new series and “figures into a major arc in the first episode,” according to Variety, which also noted that Tristan Thompson, Khloé’s ex and father of her child, True, will be in the show as well.

Sad news for all you Kim and Pete Davidson ’ship stans though: He will not be in the show. Speaking about their romance for the first time publicly, Kim told Variety, “I have not filmed with him. And I’m not opposed to it. It’s just not what he does. But if there was an event happening and he was there, he wouldn’t tell the cameras to get away. I think I might film something really exciting coming, but it wouldn’t be for this season.”

But! We aren’t left high and dry on the details of their ~love~. “How we met and who reached out to who and how it happened and all the details that everyone wants to know” will be discussed in the show, Kim said to Variety, before adding, “I’m definitely open to talking, and I definitely explain it.”

Before you sink into Lack of Pete on The Kardashians pits of despair, however, maybe this will help: In her own Variety interview published on Friday, Kourtney confirmed that her and Travis Barker’s love story is being documented on the new Hulu series (or at least parts of it are).

“I definitely hold my relationship really close,” says Kourt, who has been notoriously hesitant to allow her romantic relationships (post–Scott Disick, ofc) to be featured on her family’s reality show. “It’s so sacred to me and I am very protective of it. I think I’ve learned a lot of lessons. There is a lot of us on there, and we’ve had such a good time doing it because we have such a good time when we’re together, but I definitely want to protect it as much as I can. But also, this is my life.”

Take a moment to bask in whatever good vibes that news gives you, but then come back down a *bit* because we shouldn’t expect Kravis’s love story to be a key storyline on the new series.

“He obviously has a full-time job and a full career, so it’s not his thing,” Kourtney added. “But I think he’s happy to [film], and we have had so much fun while we’ve been filming certain things that we’re doing, so I’ll just invite the producers to come along.”

What will The Kardashians on Hulu be about?

It’s going to be kind of like KUWTK but not exactly the same. The family has final say over the edit on the Hulu series, which is described to be more documentary style than reality TV, so it will fully reflect the version of their narrative they want to share with the world.

Kim has said the new series will show a “different side” of the famous family and will also feature more about her professional life and legal studies. “I think it will be a different side,” she told WSJ. magazine in October 2021. “But I wouldn’t say that our silly sides are not going to come out.”

Kourtney said going into this project that “work-wise, I’m happier than I’ve ever been,” in an interview with Bustle. Filming Keeping Up With the Kardashians turned into a negative thing for her, but the new show marks a fresh start. “Shooting our show, it became a really toxic environment at the end for me,” Kourtney admitted to Bustle. “I would fight with my sisters. There was, like, just a lot going on. And even for me personally, I wasn’t in the happiest place.” (Bustle notes that fans should expect “more Poosh scenes” on The Kardashians once it airs.)

Meanwhile, during a Disney Upfronts event after the news of the family’s deal with Hulu broke, Kris hinted that if you were one of the people deeply invested in the Kardashians’ saga during the KUWTK days, the new series will be a continuation.

“This is the next chapter,” she teased (per People). “In the new show, you’ll see us evolving as a family. Fans want us to be who we are, and since moment one, they’ve been emotionally invested in our show, just like we are. The fans will love seeing us continue the journey. I can’t say much about what’s coming, but spoiler, we’re going to look fabulous and everyone’s going to watch.”

We’ll update this post as more information about Hulu’s The Kardashians becomes available.
