Everything We Know About Justin Bieber's Proposal to Hailey Baldwin Is Wrong

When you're part of a couple, there's three sides to every story: yours, theirs, and the one you mutually agree to tell friends and families. Today, Hailey Baldwin shared the official account of how Justin Bieber proposed.

When Bieber and Baldwin first got engaged in July, TMZ reported that it was a very public proposal. The couple was on vacation at a resort in the Bahamas, where two eyewitnesses claimed they saw Bieber propose. "Everyone was at a restaurant on the property doing salsa dancing when Justin's security told everyone to put their phones away, because something special was about to happen," TMZ reported at the time.

Talking to Vogue, Baldwin corrected the record, telling a very different story of how the proposal went down. It was super low-key and private and nobody was salsa dancing. "We were alone in a house, just the two of us. It was very special," she said.

Bieber confirmed the engagement a few days after TMZ reported on it in July, via a very long, gushing Instagram tribute to his bride to be.

Bieber and Baldwin got married in September in a New York City courthouse, in part because the couple was tired of waiting until marriage to have sex.
