Meghan King Edmonds Doesn't Want to Date Another Man With Kids Because It's Too Much "Baggage"
If you’re a Real Housewives of Orange County fan, you have no doubt obsessed over all the developments in Jim Edmonds and Meghan King Edmonds’ messy divorce. If you’re not a Bravo stan, (1) please get help, and (2) here’s everything you ever wanted to know about the insane affair rumors that have flooded your timeline.
First off, Meghan is a persevering candlemaker, according to her Bravo profile, and has been married to Jim, a former Major League baseball player, for five years. As her bio puts it, he’s apparently a “doting father” to their kids (2-year-old Aspen, and 1-year-old twins Hayes and Hart) who “never misses an opportunity to inform Meghan on how to parent.” Sounds fun.
Last summer, Meghan revealed that her “wedding ring symbolizes fraud” because Jim apparently cheated on her, and now she's out here basically implying his kids from a previous relationship are "a lot of baggage." Basically, their relationship is a hot mess, so here's a walkthrough explaining exactly how things recently devolved.
The “Lewd Photos” That Started It All
On June 14, Megan wrote a blog post called “I’m Sad” and claimed:
“I called Jimmy and he confessed to me that he had exchanged lewd photos with this woman over the course of several months and a physical relationship never existed. He paid her off to protect me so I’d never find out...Physical or not, he still had an affair and he admits this to me.”

The Alleged Blackmail and Rendezvous Under a Stadium
Jim initially denied those allegations but later said that he had a “lapse in judgment.” In a statement to Us Weekly, he confessed, “I engaged in an inappropriate conversation with this person [Jennifer McFelia Villegas]. At no time was there any type of relationship or physical contact. Absolutely none. This is someone trying to profit from my name.”
In another statement, Jim maintained that he didn’t have a physical affair with Jennifer but said he did send texts to her and met up with her “for one minute underneath the stadium in Atlanta” because she was allegedly “threatening” to say they had an affair. (Jennifer denied trying to blackmail him, BTW, and just said that she “made a poor decision to enter a relationship with a married man.”)
The 22-Year-Old Nanny at the Hockey Game
Between June and October, Megan and Jim tried working on their marriage but allegedly also fought a lot. And everything seemed to blow up when he went to a hockey game with their 22-year-old nanny, Carly Wilson. According to Us Weekly sources, Megan “interrogated” him about it and she called the police when they got into a “verbal dispute.”

On October 28, Jim posted an Instagram comment about the hockey game and wrote, "I didn’t take her to an event by myself. Get your facts straight. I was with my best friend and his child. I was trying to do something nice for the girl who just had her boyfriend dump her.”
In a since-deleted Instagram post, he wrote:
“I did not sleep with our nanny. She’s not just a nanny, she is someone that we brought into our house and promised to protect and look after while she was in our home. We have been treating and raising this young girl like she is our own child. For someone to accuse me of sleeping with her is not only wrong, it’s disgusting and irresponsible.”
On the same day, Carly denied everything and posted this:

Oh, and we can’t forget that amid all this, Jim filed for divorce one day after his and Meghan’s fifth wedding anniversary. (She claimed she found out about the divorce only ten minutes before it was all over the internet.)
Meghan’s “Despair”
After the hockey game incident, Meghan wrote yet another dramatically titled blog post. In “Broken,” she wrote:
“To be clear, I don’t know if Jim slept with our babysitter or whether they were just being exceedingly inappropriate by hanging out socially without either of them telling me (and Jim expressly lying to me about it). I’ve gone back and forth with my thoughts for a couple days, but as I write this, I don’t think he did. But I still don’t understand why he’d lie. And why would she lie?”
Meghan also said she’s “broken” and “buried in despair” and is basically a bucket of tears. Totally understandable, all things considered.
The Cops Are Called Again
This time, it was Jim who called the cops on Meghan. On November 6, Jim called the police after Meghan came home from a night out with friends and drinking a couple glasses of wine, according to an Us source. (This was apparently Jim’s first night at the house since filing for divorce, BTW.)
The source added, “She was washing her face when she heard someone knock around 10:30 p.m. An officer was there with Jim and told her Jim said he was worried she couldn’t care for [their] kids.”
The officer ultimately determined that she was “fit enough” to care for her kids that night and left.
On top of all that, Jim accused Meghan of cheating on him with the guy that dropped her off at home, according to an eyewitness who was there while the police were. Jim also offered to stay the night with Meghan and the kids, but she said no.
The Stepchildren and Their "Baggage"
Megan went on Nick Viall's podcast to imply that her stepchildren are "baggage." (Jim has four kids from a previous marriage.) She told Nick, "At the risk of sounding extremely hypocritical, I’m not really into dating a guy with kids." She tried to explain, "I love kids and I loved being a stepmom, but it’s just a lot of baggage. And I hate to call kids baggage, but kids are a lifelong commitment and you didn’t have any input into creating this child and it’s just hard. I’ve been a stepmom—it’s difficult.” She also added that a man with kids would understand her life a little more, but she still thinks it would be "hard."
Well, in typical Jim-Megan fashion, he heard about what she said and his rep responded with, "I wonder how Jim’s children feel about being referred to as baggage. What a disgraceful thing to say.”
