As Meghan Markle's wedding to Prince Harry fast approaches, speculation regarding who she'll select as her maid of honor is intensifying.
But one of the frontrunners for the role has always been Jessica Mulroney, a longterm close friend of the former Suits actress. Here's everything you need to know about Markle's prospective maid of honor ahead of the May 19 royal wedding.
Mulroney is a successful stylist in Canada.
According to the Evening Standard, Mulroney started her career as a stylist at the bridal salon Kleinfeld. She's since styled several Canadian celebrities, including Sophie Gregoire-Trudeau ahead of Justin Trudeau's inauguration.
A source revealed to Vanity Fair that "Meghan loves Jessica's style and relies on her expertize." And according to the Daily Mail, Mulroney is apparently thought of as the "Gwyneth Paltrow of Toronto."
Mulroney has had a strong working, and personal, relationship with Prince Harry's fiancée for years, and both share a passion for Toronto. Of course, Markle was based in Toronto for seven years during her time starring on Suits, which is how she became such good friends with the stylist.
She's Meghan's unofficial wedding planner.
Multiple reports claim that Mulroney is helping Markle with her wedding planning, unofficially, of course. A source told Vanity Fair:
"She is Meghan’s best friend and the person Meghan trusts with helping to plan every detail. She’s the one helping Meghan to make all the key decisions. They are on the phone daily discussing every element of the wedding, from the dress to the flowers to the canapés and the photography. Meghan is very dependent on Jessica and Jessica has been totally indispensable. She's helped Meghan and Harry with so much already."
The Evening Standard reports that Mulroney's influence was evident in Markle and Prince Harry's official engagement photos. Apparently, it was Mulroney who suggested that Markle wore a pair of earrings by Birks for the shoot.

According to Metro, Mulroney's daughter Ivy is expected to serve as a flower girl at the royal wedding, alongside Princess Charlotte. Mulroney also has two sons.
She's married to Ben Mulroney, a TV presenter and broadcaster, who happens to be the son of the former Canadian Prime Minister, Brian Mulroney, so he's likely to understand some of the pressures Prince Harry faces as a public official.

A source revealed to Vanity Fair, "Meghan and Harry trust Jessica. She and her husband, Ben, knew about the romance before anyone else and they are very much a part of their inner circle."
She was born and raised in Canada.
According to the Daily Mail, she was born into "Canada’s Browns shoes dynasty" which is worth a reported $71 million. She was born in Montreal, and her maiden name is Brownstein. She also "attended an exclusive all-girls’ school, before going to McGill University, where she studied industrial relations and economics."
