Henry Golding first shot to stardom in the 2018 film Crazy Rich Asians, where he plays the dashing romantic lead Nick Young. He's now lending his talents to the Netflix adaptation of Persuasion, as the scheming Mr. Elliot. Yet, despite his on-screen romances, Golding has been in a long-term relationship with Liv Lo.
"The biggest challenge for me wasn’t the filming," Golding said of Crazy Rich Asians. "It was knowing the fact that my wife had to see me falling with someone else on screen. But she came to grips with it and it was a learning process for the both of us."

Liv Lo was born in Taichung City, Taiwan.
"I always feel awkward answering the simple question 'where are you from'?" she wrote on Instagram in August 2018. "Typically, I answer flatly 'I am Taiwanese'. I understand. I wouldn’t believe me too. Confusing. More questions come up. I am used to the drill. I respond 'My biological father is Italian', but deep down I am apologising to the man I call Dad."
Lo continued, "The truth is I AM TAIWANESE and I am a third culture kid. I was raised in a bilingual household in Taichung until 17 and hold a Taiwanese passport. My biological father didn’t raise me - in fact, I have never met him. My Dad, surname Lo, is from Hong Kong and raised us bilingually because they wanted a bigger world for our family. I am sorry Daddy, you have given me the world, and yet I have to say that I am half Italian to explain my race, not identity. I am not lying, but it’s not the truth too."
She has two siblings, a sister, Leeza Pazkowski (née Lo), and a brother, Sam Lo, who tragically passed away in February 2019.
She made the first move to meet Henry.
Liv and Henry met over a decade ago, at a friend's birthday party in Singapore on New Year’s in 2011. " I knew you had noticed me but didn’t introduce yourself," Lo wrote on Instagram. "Disappointed, I tried all my craziest wildest efforts, including dancing on speakers, to grab your attention. If you weren’t going to speak to me, I knew I would have to. As I was leaving you walked behind me. Here was my chance. I had nothing to lose. I turned around and said 'Hi, I am leaving and you’re never going to see me again.' And so began our love story."
"Don’t you just love it when a woman just punches you in the face?" Golding later recounted to Live with Kelly and Ryan. "It’s hot when a girl takes you by the collar."
They started dating long distance—Lo was living in Tokyo, while Golding was in Singapore—before they moved in together.
They got engaged in 2015 in Phuket, Thailand and married in 2016 in Sarawak, Malaysia.
"It was on our fourth anniversary – and we were on holiday in Phuket. We had the best day riding on motorbikes to temples, finding secret beaches and eating spicy Thai food. He had booked a restaurant at sunset that ‘just so happened’ to have a string quartet playing and was serving champagne on arrival. But, I just thought he was being romantic as it was our anniversary," Lo recounted. "However, we took a stroll on the rocks and he proposed at the magic hour. Unforgettable.”
They married in August 2016 at the Cove 55 resort in Sarawak, Malaysia. Liv wore a Galia Lahav wedding dress:
The Goldings moved to Los Angeles in 2020.
Liv is a yoga instructor.
She is extremely into health and wellness. Not only does she teach yoga, but she make YouTube fitness videos, and produces a subscription fitness class called FitSphere.
"As a young girl I played basketball, badminton, got lost hiking and swam everyday. I never thought of it as exercise and looked forward to getting outside spending time with friends," she shares on her website. "Through fitness I experienced the brain changing effects of exercise and forged a meaningful connection to my body. I still love to do these plus jog, cycle, and yoga with additional coffee and a good meal after."
Liv and Henry welcomed a baby girl, Lyla, in March 2021.
