Everything to Know About HBO's 'The Last Of Us' TV Series

'Endure and survive.'

The Last Of Us TV series is one of the most highly anticipated shows of 2023. Based on the beloved video game franchise of the same name, the series will follow Joel and Ellie as they embark on a trek across the United States in an effort to save humanity after an outbreak that destroyed civilization: Think a zombie apocalypse caused by fungus. Those infected are commonly referred to as "clickers" or "The Infected."

The show is co-created Craig Mazin (creator of HBO's Chernobyl) and Neil Druckmann, creator of the original Naughty Dog video game series.

The Last of Us season 1 will consist of nine episodes. Episode 1 has a reported runtime of an hour and 25 minutes.

How many seasons are there of The Last of Us?

So far there is one season of The Last of Us series. However, the show's writers and co-creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckman described the upcoming season as "the first cycle" of the series, hinting that there may be more to come.

It isn't until the final moments of the trailer that we see "The Infected," which are cloaked in shadow but look very spooky!
