To say that Selling Sunset season 7 is drama-filled is...well, a serious understatement. Like, between the multiple arguments breaking out between brokers at The Oppenheim Group, Marie-Lou Nurk’s T-E-N-S-E meeting with Chrishell Stause that rivals *that* The Crown season 4 lunch between Diana and Camilla, the arrival of new agent Cassandra Dawn, and the constant questioning of just how these ladies are able to showcase multi-million dollar homes in the skinniest, highest pair of heels (still wondering, TYVM), there is a looooot going on—in the best way possible, of course.
And after a season finale that truly shook us to our cores, we're all probs wondering the same thing: Have the head honchos at Netflix renewed Selling Sunset for an eighth season? Whelp, here's everything we know...👀
When will Selling Sunset season 8 hit Netflix?
*Le sigh* Sadly, Netflix has yet to hear our prayers and renew Selling Sunset for another season. However, all signs point to the streamer extending its 'ship with the reality show for more episodes, especially on the heels of Selling Sunset's spinoff series, Selling the OC, getting renewed for two additional seasons in January 2023.
And hopefully, we'll hear news of Netflix striking a deal similar to its most recent one back in June 2022, when it renewed the hit show for an additional two seasons, per Variety. Either way, there's no doubt that fans will be eagerly awaiting a renewal announcement, especially since season 7 was so jaw-droppingly juicy.
What will season 8 be about?
'Kay, so without giving *too* much away, season 7 of Selling Sunset saw The Oppenheim Group expand to sunny Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, with many of our favorite faces traveling to see the new offices. For now, it’s unclear whether the Cabo branch of Jason and Brett's business will be featured in season 8 (or whether it'll get its own spinoff ~moment~ à la Selling the OC), but it’s definitely possible that it'll play a role in episodes to come!
Which cast members will be returning?
Should Selling Sunset return for an eighth season, it seems likely that all the usual suspects—ahem: Jason and Brett Oppenheim, Chrishell Stause, Amanza Smith, Emma Hernan, Chelsea Lazkani, Nicole Young, and Bre Tiesi—will continue to be there when the cameras start rolling again.
That said, Heather Rae El Moussa’s future on the show is a little less clear, especially after her extremely reduced role in season 7. During an interview with E! News in March 2023, the real estate agent revealed that, "Season seven is filming right now, but I've been off maternity leave and I've been excited to get back to work. And so far, I've not been called back. It's been a little frustrating. So, not sure what's been going on."
It's also possible that her exciting new HGTV show, The Flipping El Moussas, could potentially conflict with her role on Selling Sunset. Back in August 2022, Brett Oppenheim actually opened up to E! News and revealed that her presence on the show was "TBD" because of this very reason. "I think for now she's able to do both...I know she's still going to be at The Oppenheim Group. I think that's with her and production and Netflix and all that," he mused.
Another person who might not be back for future episodes? Jason's now ex-girlfriend, model Marie-Lou Nurk, who had a beyond, erm, awk convo with Chrishell this season that will forever live in my head rent-free. Watch it for the first (or 100th) time if you dare lol:
Is there a trailer for Selling Sunset season 8?
So far, a trailer has yet to be released for season 8 since there's been no announcement of a renewal, meaning fans will probs have to hang tight until a new season is confirmed for a juicy snippet of what's to come.
