Everything You Need to Know About The Drama That Went Down Between Chase Hudson and Charli D'Amelio

It has been a few months since the world of TikTok exploded in a fit of unfollows, cheating allegations, and drama when Chase Hudson revealed that he had kissed Josh Richards' ex-girlfriend, Nessa Barrett. The tea was enough to even put the beauty influencer community on its knees. But so many things have happened since then, you may need a reminder of what went down. Don't worry, continue reading for the perfect refresher on the drama and everyone involved.

Has anyone talked about it recently?

Three months after the drama to end all drama, Chase is finally talking about it. On an episode of Dixie D'Amelio's YouTube series, she brought up the situation, saying that while Chase was "not loved" after it, "things have slowly been coming out in" in his favor. Most likely, she is referencing to Chase calling out Griffin for cheating on Dixie, which seemingly ended up to be true.

"That day was just an eventful day," Chase said. "A lot of things were flying through my brain. Just about everyone one on social media was kind of coming for my neck." Chase said that he didn't regret what he did, though.

"It's better to come clean than to lie," he said.

"If you just pull up the receipts, you say what has to be said, there's just nothing more to the story," he explained. "There's nothing that they can say that they haven't heard already if you tell them yourself."

How did it get started?

The drama that erupted on Monday, July 6th started off slowly. TikTok drama account TikTokRoom started posting proof that many people were unfollowing each other on Instagram. Former and current Sway House members Quinton Griggs, Jaden Hossler, Josh Richards, Kio Cyr, Blake Gray, Anthony Reeves, and Bryce Hall unfollowed Chase Hudson and his friend and fellow Hype House member, Nick Austin. Thomas Petrou unfollowed Nessa Barrett and Josh Richards, and Nessa unfollowed Thomas and Chase.

Then, the tweets started coming in. Jaden and Josh both shared sentiments on Twitter about fake people. "I don’t do things for attention so get that out of here," Jaden said, seemingly talking about unfollowing Chase. "I simply just did not want to see fake ass people’s faces anymore hence, the unfollowing I’m sure the other people felt a similar way."

"Sometimes you need to cut out the fake people in your life," Josh wrote. "You give them f*cking 2nd chances and they go behind you’re back and try and f*ck with you again. Biggest advice I have for you all, learn who’s real! Wish everyone the best and hope they all succeed."

Bryce also chimed in, asking, "what’s up w/ kids thinkin w/ their d*cks instead of their brains now n days."

Then, Charli's mom, Heidi, posted an Instagram story featuring two angry face emojis, though she later deleted it.

Charli also shared an Instagram with the caption, "your loss" and seemed to delete all of her Instagram pics with Chase.

She then tweeted, "I hope she was worth it," though she later deleted the tweet.

So why was this all happening?

At this point, TikTok fans were very confused, but that's when Chase came in to clarify what was going on. "All of this drama going on is because I kissed Nessa when we were both single," he posted (and later deleted).

Charli, though, shed more light on the situation by responding to Chase's tweet. "Then you shouldn't have come to my house after without telling me..."

Others were not impressed by Chase's confession either. Anthony Reeves responded, "KiSsEd," seemingly implying that he thinks they did more.

Anthony then wrote, "literally 4 Billion+ girls in this world and you choose the ones your homies dated? never made sense man."

Jaden spoke out as well. "Boy you need to ONE stop lying and giving half the truth to make yourself look better," he said. "And TWO when we pulled up and confronted you in person you didn’t say shit except you were wrong sit down and be quiet on social media if you aren’t gonna talk in person sad."

What did Chase do next?

Amid all the commotion following Chase's confession, the 18-year-old made another statement on Twitter, one where he accused numerous other TikTok stars of cheating on their significant others.

"Since all my drama has to be put on the internet for the world to judge me, let's lay out everyone else's," he wrote. He then accused Griffin Johnson of cheating on Dixie D'Amelio, Jaden of cheating on Mads Lewis, Josh of cheating and Nessa, and Kio of cheating on Olivia.

Wow, how did people respond to that?

As you can imagine, this elicited a lot of reactions. Charli immediately called out Chase for failing to take responsibility for his actions. "Stop deflecting your actions onto others because you can't take responsibility Chase," she wrote. "Want me to talk about how you treated me throughout our relationship or do you just want to continue to play the victim?"

Her sister, Dixie also spoke up, ignoring the allegation against her boyfriend. "Ur wild," she said. "Stop playing the victim and worry about yourself."

Griffin also ignored the allegation, but simply tweeted, "someone get this kid off the internet."

Anthony, meanwhile, stuck up for his friends, writing that Josh and Jaden didn't cheat on their girlfriends. "I lived in the house with them and never ever seen them touch another girl," he said.

Later though, Kelianne Stankus, a new member of the Hype House claimed that Jaden did text her while he was dating Mads. Anthony admitted that he didn't know what Jaden did on his phone. "I said I never saw them do anything tho which is true," he said.

Olivia Ponton, meanwhile, seemingly thanked Chase for accusing her ex, Kio, of cheating. Kio, though, responded to Chase, writing, "where the f*ck did this come from??"

Kio then explained the situation a little, seemingly saying that he never knew why Olivia broke up with him, but now he realizes that someone told her he cheated on her. He does, however deny that he cheated. "This just made a lot of things make sense," he wrote, seemingly about the cheating allegation. "No wonder the break up was so out of the blue, someone says some sh*t about me, and you choose to believe it."

He continued, saying, "You were happy as you could possibly be when we broke up," he said. "Partying. While I cried in my bed for days. Didn’t eat for five days. Didn’t leave my room for days. Wondering why I wasn’t good enough. And it’s because you believed I cheated on you. The worst part? [TikTokRoom] told me, not you."

Finally, Chase's other ex, Cynthia Parker spoke out, responding to Chase's tweet. "During out relationship, all I wanted was for Chase to own up to his OWN mistakes and issues," she said. "This is so private and unnecessary. Instead of throwing everyone else under the bus own up to your own sh*t, somehow you've dated two minors that are STILL more mature than you've ever been."

Jaden, meanwhile, opted to head to the Hype House and talk to Chase in person.

When he got there, he went live on Instagram, saying he didn't want to fight Chase, just talk."He wants to go online and say some stupid ass lies so we're just going to talk about the lies down here," he said. "Here I am. You have the opportunity, let's come down and talk about it like men and not be fake."

Later, Jaden confirmed that he was able to speak with Chase. "We talked. No fighting. It’s settled. I was heated [as f*ck] but now I’m calm bc talking can resolve everything. It’s over," he wrote.

Has Nessa said anything?

Many were wondering why Nessa was staying so quiet over all of this, but she recently made a statement to People about the situation. "Yes, Chase kissed me & nothing else happened after that," she said. "I can speak for the both of us that it didn’t mean anything."
