Twenty years after Eddie Murphy starred in The Haunted Mansion, Disney is releasing a new film inspired by the classic Disney World and Disneyland attraction. The movie, which is described as a "comically creepy adventure," boasts an all-star cast, including Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Rosario Dawson, LaKeith Stanfield, Jamie Lee Curtis and Jared Leto.
Director Justin Simien, who's previously revealed that he used to ride the Haunted Mansion during breaks while working at Disneyland, said in a statement: “As a lifelong fan of the Haunted Mansion attraction, I’m beyond excited to share the teaser trailer for our new film adaptation featuring an incredible cast."
"Our team has worked tirelessly to create a scary, funny and cinematic otherworldly adventure for both new and die-hard fans to enjoy!" Simien added. "I can’t wait for audiences to experience this big screen version of the iconic Disney attraction.”

The film will be released on July 28, 2023.

The movie won't be premiering on Disney+, instead, the doors of the Haunted Mansion will open only in theaters.

Is there a trailer for Haunted Mansion?
While an official trailer has not yet been released, Walt Disney Studios did drop a teaser trailer on March 2. In it, Rosario Dawson's character tells her son, “I know this place isn’t as warm as I’d hoped, but I’m going to light a vanilla candle and it’s gonna be a game-changer.”
Owen Wilson's character is also heard saying the "mansion is unhinged" and she needs "all the help she can get." Danny DeVito's character also warns, "Be careful, death lurks around every corner."

Rosario Dawson as Gabbie
Gabbie (played by Rosario Dawson) is a physician and mother of a nine-year-old named Travis. She and her son move into a strangely affordable mansion in New Orleans.
Chase W. Dillon as Travis
Travis (played by Chase W. Dillon) is Gabbie's nine-year-old son who has trouble making friends at his new school after he and his mom move into the mansion.

LaKeith Stanfield as Ben
Ben is a widowed scientist-turned-failed paranormal expert who is enlisted by a priest to help Gabbie and Travis rid the mansion of evil spirits.
Tiffany Haddish as Harriet
Harriet is a New Orleans French Quarter psychic who is enlisted by Father Kent.
Owen Wilson as Father Kent
Father Kent is a priest who enlists the help of a scientist, a psychic and a historian to assist Gabbie and Travis in getting rid of the evil spirits.

Professor Bruce Davis is described as a crotchety Tulane University historian who is an expert on abandoned Louisiana mansions. He is enlisted to help by Wilson's character.
Jamie Lee Curtis as Madame Leota
Madame Leota is an ancient psychic whose face mysteriously appears in a crystal ball the group find in a safe in the house’s sitting room along with a book of her incantations.
Jared Leto as the Hatbox Ghost
The Oscar winner will be playing The Hatbox Ghost.
Dan Levy
On his Instagram Story, the Schitt's Creek alum wrote, "Happy to have played a little part in this," adding a ghost emoji.
Winona Ryder
The Stranger Things star also reportedly appears in the movie.
William Gracey is another character in the film, though it's unclear who he is portrayed by. He is the former occupant of the New Orleans mansion that Gabbie and her son move into.
