Everything We Know About Disney’s New ‘Star Wars’ Hotel Experience

On Thursday, Bob Chapek, chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products revealed some seriously major news for fans of the Mouse House. And that news includes the fact that Disney World is getting its very own Star Wars vacation experience.

According to Chapek, Disney World’s newest vacation experience will be known as Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser.

The attraction, TravelPulse reported, will be an all-inclusive experience for guests. Visitors can check-in for two-night stays on the "glamorous starship" known as the Halcyon. There, they will mingle with characters and take part in the ship’s story.

According to ComicBook, Disney fans visiting the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California this weekend can check out a mockup of the ship before anyone else. The sneak peek includes renderings of rooms, entertainment areas, and more. Though Disney hasn’t revealed how much the hotel stay will cost, Cinema Blend reported a two-night stay could run between $3,300 for a single person or $7,200 for a cabin of five.

As ComicBook additionally noted, way back in 2015 Disney CEO Bob Iger shared the news that Disney would be building attractions around the Star Wars movie franchise. Of course, we know all know about Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in Disneyland, and now a bit more about its Disney World counterpart. But, fans may be able to learn even more in a new documentary special hitting Freeform (a Disney-owned television station) on Sept. 29.

"Freeform will give viewers an exciting behind-the-scenes look at the new lands at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Resort in Southern California with a two-hour special, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – Adventure Awaits,” Disney shared in a statement about the documentary. “Hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, the immersive and exclusive television event will allow audiences to explore the epic new lands and learn more about how this new planet of Batuu came to life.”

Of course, Star Wars projects aren’t the only thing Disney has going on. Chapek also shared news of new attractions based on the animated film Moana, a multi-year transformation of Epcot, an Avengers-themed attraction known as Avengers Campus, and more, TravelPulse reported.
