At the end of Descendants 2, Uma (played by China Anne McClain) said, "You didn’t think this was the end of the story, did you?" So naturally, fans were dying for more.

(Also, if you're dying to watch Dove, Sofia, and China play a hilarious Disney challenge, watch the video below...)

Fortunately, Disney Channel announced that Descendants 3 will drop in the summer of 2019! Although a full-length trailer hasn't been released, you can watch the teaser, below.

And if you're ready to start singing the new songs with your besties, Disney released the "Good To Be Bad" music video in May. It's the movie's opening number, and according to a press release, the song is "now available as a single and the full Descendants 3 soundtrack is available for pre-order from Walt Disney Records on digital music platforms." Check it out below!

Cast members Cameron Boyce and Booboo Stewart, who play Carlos and Jay respectively, responded to the exciting news with a Boomerang video. “when you hear the news… @descendants,” Cameron wrote on Instagram.

And Dove Cameron, who plays Mal, the daughter of Maleficent, posted this "evil & wicked" pic.

There's not a whole lot to work with just yet, but here's everything we know about the trequel so far.

Will the movie pay tribute to Cameron Boyce?

The world mourned when the family of Cameron Boyce confirmed the actor's death recently, citing an "ongoing medical condition" and a resulting seizure as the cause.

Of course, fans of Descendants, Jessie, and Cameron's other work were devastated and shocked by the sudden passing on the actor, and many of Cameron's costars took to social media to share their feelings.

Now, many are thinking of the upcoming Descendants 3, which will showcase Cameron in arguably his most popular role of Carlos, son of Cruella De Vil. The movie is done filming, so Cameron will be in the film, but it will definitely be hard to watch the late actor on screen.

As for some sort of tribute, it is unclear if Disney has plans to acknowledge Cameron's death in the film. Disney Channel issued a statement in which they call Cameron "an incredibly talented performer, a remarkably caring and thoughtful person and, above all else, he was a loving and dedicated son, brother, grandson, and friend."

They confirm that Descendants 3 will feature Boyce’s final performance as Carlos, but they don't comment on any special tributes to the late actor.

When will Descendants 3 premiere?

In late May, Disney Channel announced the next chapter in the Descendants saga will premiere Friday, August 2. It's so close, yet so far away!

At Disney Channel Fan Fest, fans got a special look at the movie thanks to the help of Cheyenne Jackson's character, Hades, who reveals his plan to get revenge on Belle and Beast for keeping him trapped in The Isle of the Lost.

Back in March, Kenny Ortega announced that production was over for Descendants 3 and that the film will premiere this summer.

Dove also confirmed she put some final touches on her character in post-production.

Will there be any new cast members?

Cheyenne Jackson will be playing the main villain, Hades, and he looks a little different than the Hercules villain we all love to hate. In a new teaser, Hades is seen playing a guitar, with his iconic blue hair turning into fire. He is also seen fighting a mysterious monster with some lightning bolts, meaning that he might've gotten into some trouble with Zeus again. Check out the teaser below:

Christian Convery and Luke Roessler will play Squeaky and Squirmy (Smee's sons). Jamal Sims will play Dr. Falicier and Jadah Marie will act as his daughter, Celia and her outfit looks amazing! Check it out below:

What is the finale going to be like?

While the cast and crew have been pretty quiet over what fans can expect from Descendants 3, Sofia Carson revealed that the movie's overall message will be a political one.

"What I've always loved about our franchise is that we stand for so much more than the fairytale. We stand for the outcasts, the misfits, who never fit in and it's such a beautiful and empowering story because we all feel like that. This time around, our message is almost political," she said at Build. "I don’t want to say too much, but it’s so of the times. The finale is so cathartic and so beautiful. It’s bigger than the last two, the music is really amazing and Evie’s fashion is incredible."

"Kenny [Ortega] says she's kind of like the Joan of Arc of the movie, so you'll see more of like a warrior side to her," she also revealed.

Is there a trailer?

Disney can't stop dropping trailers for Descendants 3 and it looks like things aren't going so well for Mal. In the new teaser, something seems to be coming after Mal and it's darker than anything they've faced before. Is it Hades or something even more evil? Check it out below:

Disney previously released the first teaser and things don’t look like they’re going to be easy for the students of Auradon Prep.

Mal, Evie, Carlos, Jay and Uma are all back and they seem to be fighting their biggest villain yet. While Disney hasn’t officially revealed who the villain is going to be, they’ll definitely need each other and a couple more friends to survive and keep Auradon safe.

Plus, it seems like something BIG might change everything for Mal, and Ben is sporting a new look that we HAVEN’T seen before. Check out the trailer below:

Have the cast met up since filming wrapped?

While they were super sad to say goodbye to their characters and each other when filming wrapped, the Descendants cast recently had a cute get together to play Family Feud.

Sofia Carson posted some videos to her Instagram story featuring Dove Cameron, Booboo Stewart, and Kenny Ortega.

Meg Donnelly was also seen in one of the videos, possibly hinting to a Descendants vs. Zombies episode.

Maybe they'll all get together for one huge dance number at the end?

You'll need to watch something else before it comes out.

You might be wondering what else you would probably need to watch before the third film other than the first two movies. Well, it turns out that Disney will be releasing a new short film called Under the Sea: A Descendants Story, which features Dove Cameron as Mal and China McClain as Uma. The story will take place between Descendants 2 and 3. Thomas Doherty and Dylan Playfair will also appear in the special. Check out the brand new teaser for it below:

The short film will premiere on September 28 and will also be available on the DisneyNow app and VOD. The film is part of a Descendants marathon, which will start airing at 3:30 that day. The marathon will show the first two movies as well as never-before-seen footage from the newest film!

On the 28th, following the premiere of Under the Sea: A Descendants Story, there will be a Descendants-themed edition of QUIZney at 7:50 PM ET! You can play along and test how well you know the Descendants on the DisneyNOW app or at www.DisneyNOW.com.

Is the cast still close after filming?

While filming might be over, the cast still seems to find time to hang out with each other. During the Variety Power of Young Hollywood event, Anna Cathcart, Sofia Carson, and Cameron Boyce met up for a bit and even posed for a picture together.

Will the characters rock a new look?

China McClain just shared a behind-the-scenes look at Uma's new hairstyle and it looks absolutely amazing. Mitchell Hope is also seen in the video talking to China as she gets ready for the big shoot.

But that's not the only change Uma will be rocking in the new movie. As you can see in the pic, below, the stars of the movie are wearing new costumes this time around! In case you need a reminder of who's who, here's the breakdown: from left to right, there's Dylan Playfair as Gil (son of Gaston), China Anne McClain as Uma (daughter of Ursula), and Thomas Doherty as Harry (son of Captain Hook). Who are you most excited to see on screen?

Is filming over?

The cast just wrapped up filming and its only fitting that the original four came together one last time before officially saying goodbye to the film series.

After they finished filming their last scenes, Sofia Carson and Dove Cameron posted sweet tributes to their Descendants cast, especially the core four.

According to Just Jared Jr., the cast of Descendants 3 couldn't stop gushing about each other, before the third installment finished wrapping up. Makes sense right? If the stars are getting ready to part ways, it's only natural they'd take a moment to thank the cast and everyone involved.

"This cast is the pride and joy of my life. My whole heart is in these people. I grow and I am better every day because of these people. As a performer, but mostly as a young woman and a healthy human. There are not enough words. It will always fall short," Dove Cameron, who plays Mal, wrote.

Cameron's costar Sofia Carson commented, "Retweet forever and ever."

Sofia also tweeted at the "core four," which includes Dove, Cameron Boyce, and Booboo Stewart. So sweet!

Dove Cameron also posted a video of her in her iconic purple Mal wig and shared that the cast only had a couple of days of filming left.

"Taking this because it’s one of the last filming days of #descendants3 which means it’s one of my last days in purple hair AND we’re filming our biggest dance number and i couldn’t feel luckier or love these people more or love YOU guys more. sending ALL of the kisses. so many reasons to celebrate. i can’t wait for y’all to see," she wrote.

The official Descendants twitter page also confirmed that filming ended with one final photo of the core four together.

Will the original cast return?

Yes, all your favorites will be featured! The confirmed lineup includes Dove Cameron as Mal, Cameron Boyce as Carlos, Sofia Carson as Evie, Booboo Stewart as Jay, Mitchell Hope as King Ben, and China Anne McClain as Uma. Thomas Doherty will also return as Harry, Dylan Playfair as Gil, and Anna Cathcart as Dizzy, and so many more!

Below, you can check out the first official photo of the villain kids.

Will there be any new villains?

Full additional casting details have yet to be announced, but judging from the teaser, it looks like fans will meet Mal's father.

And there is at least one confirmed villain to make the cast! Cheyenne Jackson Will play Hades (the ruler of the Underworld from Hercules) in the third installment. Cheyenne has appeared on Broadway in shows like The Performers, Finian’s Rainbow, Xanadu, All Shook Up, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and Aida, according to Playbill. On TV, he's appeared on American Horror Story.

Who will direct it?

Kenny Ortega is the director, executive producer and choreographer for the franchise, but don't forget, he's also the mastermind behind High School Musical.

When will production begin?

Production will begin this summer in Vancouver, Canada.

Stay tuned for updates! And let us know which Descendants character you're most excited to see.
