Yes, Daniel Radcliffe revealed in the 20th anniversary Harry Potter special that he once had a boyhood crush on his co-star Helena Bonham Carter. But for the better part of a decade, Daniel has only had eyes for his girlfriend Erin Darke. The two maintain a low-key relationship, having walked the red carpet only a handful of times as a couple. Most recently, the two made an appearance together on Monday, March 10, smiling side-by-side at a screening in New York City for Daniel’s new movie, The Lost City.

Even though most deets are kept under wraps, the couple has previously gushed about each other. So if you’re like us, you’re dying to learn more about the woman who stole the heart of The Boy Who Lived. Read on for everything there is to know about Daniel’s longtime love, Erin Darke.

She is an actress

Erin’s first acting credit dates back to 2009 when she played Emily in a short titled Obelisk Road, according to her IMDB page. She has starred in series such as Amazon Prime’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Good Girls Revolt, and TBS’s Miracle Workers, which her BF Daniel holds a lead role in. She’s also appeared in a range of films, including Still Alice with Julianne Moore and Summer ‘03 with Joey King.

In addition to her acting, Erin has worked as a casting associate for more than a dozen productions, such as The Carrie Diaries, The Wolverine, Labor Day, and Young Adult.

She and Daniel met on the set of Kill Your Darlings

According to the Daily Mail UK, Erin and Daniel first connected on the set of the drama-romance flick Kill Your Darlings. The film was released in October 2013, but a representative for Erin confirmed in 2014 that she and Daniel have been dating “for about two years.” So, that would likely mean that the couple started their relationship sometime in 2012.

In Kill Your Darlings, Daniel stars as American poet and writer Allen Ginsberg. Erin plays a character named Gwendolyn, whom Ginsberg shares an *intimate* moment with in one particularly steamy scene.

“That's a wonderful record of us flirting for the first time,” Daniel shared in an interview with Playboy in 2015. “There's no acting going on — not from my end, anyway. There's a moment when she makes me laugh, and I'm laughing as me and not as my character. She was incredibly funny and smart. I knew I was in trouble.”

She is five years older than Daniel

Erin was born on September 10, 1984, while Daniel was born on July 23, 1989. So that makes the two 37 and 32, respectively.

She is a Midwesterner

The actress is from Flint, Michigan and is an alumna of the University of Michigan-Flint Theatre and Dance department, which she graduated from in 2005.

Erin is an enthusiast for her home state’s professional sports teams as well. According to her Twitter bio, she’s a “devoted” Detroit Red Wings fan, but hockey isn’t her only sport — during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Daniel shared that Erin supports the Detroit Lions and the two tune into their NFL game every Thanksgiving Day, “with the misery or joy that that entails.” But she can put her faith in teams elsewhere, as she’s also a “fantasy football enthusiast.

The couple has sparked engagement rumors

Erin and Daniel have been going strong for a decade but have never announced wedding plans. Still, rumors of their engagement have swirled and caused fans to speculate whether or not Daniel proposed.

“We’re at the point now where I’ve seen my own wedding reported several times,” Erin told Vulture in 2020. “You do start to dismiss things you read about your partner if you’re pretty sure they’re not true. I spent a week once having to text all my family members being like, ‘I promise if I’m getting married, you will find out from me and not Us Weekly.’”

“At least three different times, somebody has written that we’re getting married and Emma Watson is gonna be the maid of honor, and Rupert Grint is my best man, and we’re getting married on a lake in Michigan,” Daniel added.
