Everything to Know About 'The Challenge: USA' Season 2

Last year, The Challenge opened up its doors in brand-new ways, expanding to country-based spinoffs that culminated in a "World Championship" that aired earlier this year. One of them was The Challenge: USA, which brought together alumni from various CBS reality shows under the format of the hit MTV series. And though the World Championship is done, the show continues, with a new cast and even some familiar faces from the original show in the fray.

When does The Challenge: USA season 2 premiere?

The Challenge: USA season 2 premieres on Thursday, August 10 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, following the first eviction episode of Big Brother 25.

What night does The Challenge: USA season 2 air?

For its first three weeks, The Challenge: USA season 2 will air two nights a week. Episodes will run on Thursdays at 10:00 and Sundays at 9:00. Beginning on Thursday, August 31, the show will then scale back to one episode in the Thursday slot through the end of the season.

When is The Challenge: USA season 2 finale?

The finale date for The Challenge: USA season 2 has yet to be announced. The first season ran for twelve episodes. So, considering the first half of the season will run throughout August, we can expect a finale around the end of September or beginning of October.

How does The Challenge: USA season 2 work?

It's unknown what the format of The Challenge: USA season 2 will be. Last season (along with the other spinoffs) utilized an "algorithm" to randomly pair up contestants who would compete in challenges and eliminations together for that episode. We're not sure yet whether the algorithm will return for season 2, or if the show has a new format to unleash upon the contestants.

Who is in the cast for The Challenge: USA season 2?

The cast of The Challenge: USA season 2 has yet to be announced. According to a press release from CBS, "Fan favorites from CBS’ reality shows, including Survivor, Big Brother and The Amazing Race, will compete in one of the most unpredictable and demanding games of their lives alongside some of The Challenge’s biggest reality titans. This will mark the first time that contestants from the MTV series have crossed over to CBS.

What happened in The Challenge: USA season 1?

CBS' first bout with The Challenge ended in one of the wildest endings in the show's history. Ten players entered the final, though four were removed on the first day due to extenuating circumstances, namely injury or not completing a challenge. The next day, the remaining players were stumped by a sudoku puzzle in the freezing cold. As a result, nearly everyone chose to quit. Survivor players Danny McCray and Sarah Lacina were the only two to finish the final, giving them the win by default.

Who is the host of The Challenge: USA?

T.J. Lavin is the host of The Challenge: USA. The BMX rider has been the host of the MTV version of The Challenge since 2005, as well as the Paramount+ spinoff The Challenge: All-Stars.
