Bling Empire is officially back! It’s been well over a year since the first season premiered in January 2021, but as of May 13 (that’s today, babes!), the cast is back on Netflix to bring us more fashion, more fun, and lots more drama. And as anyone who watched the first season of Bling Empire knows, the drama has range—we’re talking from the absurd (like, say, a conflict over a super-expensive necklace) to the surprisingly tense (aka the search for someone’s estranged father).
Even with the different levels of drama it hits, the show is still incredibly easy to watch—I mean, it is mostly fancy/filthy rich people partying and arguing. So if you gobbled up season 2 in a 12-hour span, you may be wondering whether Bling Empire will return yet again for a third season. After all, a lot of similar reality shows have gone on for season after season after season (looking at you, Selling Sunset). Here’s what we know about a possible season 3 for Bling Empire so far.
Will Bling Empire return for season 3?
Season 2 of Bling Empire was announced in March 2021, two months after the show premiered. At that point, Netflix renewed it for only one more season, so currently, it’s unclear whether Bling Empire will return again.
That said, if Bling Empire season 2 is as successful as the first season was, an announcement about season 3 could follow last year’s pattern and come not too long after season 2 premieres.
When will Bling Empire season 3 premiere?
If Bling Empire is renewed for another season, it would make sense if it premiered in early 2023 because that would follow the schedule the show has established so far.
But again, we don’t know anything yet, and Netflix has surprised fans with its release schedule in the past. Back in 2020, a third season of fellow reality show Selling Sunset was announced right after its second season premiered—and season 3 debuted just three months later. Could Bling Empire season 3 premiere in August? Could it premiere next May? Could it premiere…never? IDK! It’s literally all possible right now.
What can we expect from season 3?
A couple of people involved with the show have commented on the possibility of it continuing beyond season 2. In an interview with PopSugar, star Christine Chiu shared her hopes for the future of the cast.
“I would love the addition of artists and creators, whether they’re entrepreneurs, storytellers, dancers, or musicians, just folks who are showcasing additional talent,” she explained. “I know that the heart and soul of Bling Empire is really not the bling. It’s not. The bling is what’s drawing you in, but the stories and the journeys are what keep you hooked and resonate with people and make it worthwhile and impactful for myself and the rest of the cast to participate on this project.”
Additionally, executive producer Jeff Jenkins told Oprah Daily that the show could continue for years if given the chance. “The cast is hilarious, sexy, funny, dramatic, and conniving,” Jenkins said. “All of us would love to continue on this journey with them for as many years as viewers are interested.”
Yeah, the interest in reality TV escapism probably isn’t going to stop anytime soon, so keep it coming.
