After two long years, BLACKPINK has new music on the way, and it's coming sooner than we expected. In early July, YG Entertainment confirmed that Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa would be releasing new music and that they'd be heading out on "the largest world tour in the history of a K-pop girl group." On July 31, the group confirmed their follow-up album Born Pink in an announcement video posted on their official YouTube.

It's been a long time coming for the K-pop superstars. BLACKPINK debuted No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart after releasing their debut album, THE ALBUM, in October 2020. The group's premiere effort achieved massive success, with seven songs from their project hitting the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Along with their success as a group, BLACKPINK's leading ladies have gone on to do amazing solo business endeavors as well.

BLACKPINK has been busy as they prepare to drop their new album. The record-breaking superstars made their US television debut when they hit the stage at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards in August. They shut down the stage in a lively performance of their hit single, "Pink Venom," and brought home two moon people.

Physical copies in the form of a Digipack will include a CD, booklet, random selfie photocard, accordion lyrics paper, and one folded poster. The album is available for pre-order from August 22 -September 15.

What will BLACKPINK's lead single be?

It's official, BLINKS. BLACKPINK will be releasing the second single from the forthcoming album, and it's coming soon. The K-pop superstars announced that their new single "Shut Down" will be released on the same day as their forthcoming album Born Pink. "Shut Down" is the follow-up to the group's lead single, "Pink Venom," which debuted at No. 22 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making it the group's second-highest charting song.

On August 7, BLACKPINK took to Instagram on August 7 to announce their first single, "Pink Venom." The highly-anticipated video premiered on August 19.

Details about the group's sound for the new album and an official tracklist haven't been announced just yet. However, there are some hints about who could be working on the group's project.

Music producer and OneRepublic singer Ryan Tedder confirmed that he's working on the album. "I did write with the girls themselves," he told Good Morning America. "I genuinely love BLACKPINK, so I can't tell you what's coming out," the producer added. "I think one or two of my songs have made the album from what I've been told. The stuff that I did with them, I can just say, is very true to their sound. They wrote it, so it was very much me just supporting them, their ideas. It's cool as hell."

Which cities will BLACKPINK visit on their tour?
