Beautiful, the musical about Carole King's early life and career featuring her music, is becoming a film. The Broadway showed starred Jesse Mueller as King—she won the Tony Award for best leading actress in a musical for the role. Now, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical will make the leap from stage to the big screen. Here's everything we know about the movie musical so far.

Daisy Edgar-Jones will star as Carole King.

"Daisy has a spirit and energy that I recognized as myself when I was younger. She’s a tremendous talent and I know she’s going to give a great performance," King told Variety.

Though King approves of Edgar-Jones's casting, many on Twitter pointed out that the role of King, a Jewish woman, should be played by a Jewish actress. "I love Daisy, but they couldn't find ONE musically and theatrically gifted Jewish American woman to portray this iconic Jewish American woman?" tweeted Emma Kantor.

"Carole King is a Jewish icon and once again we’re getting a non-Jew playing a Jew in a time when people are really hatin on Jews," tweeted Danielle Weisberg.

No other cast members—including who will play Gerry Goffin, Cynthia Weil, Barry Mann, or Don Kirshner—have been announced yet.

Lisa Cholodenko will direct.

Cholodenko's previous films include High Art, Laurel Canyon, and The Kids Are All Right. Producers of Beautiful include Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman.

Like the musical, the movie will feature King's music, including "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman" and "You’ve Got a Friend."

There's no premiere date yet.

We'll update this as soon as we learn more.
