Despite the serial killers, cult leaders, and cinematographers bent on destroying lives in Riverdale, Archie and the gang just keep coming back for more. Season 5 part 2 just kicked off on the CW, but what about Riverdale season 6? Is the gang coming back for another round?

Here’s what we know about the future of the show, with a huge emphasis on the future of it all.

Is Riverdale coming back for season 6?

Here’s a one-word answer: YES. The CW renewed Riverdale for another round and announced the news on Twitter:

When does Riverdale season 6 premiere?

The CW kindly provided early answers when it comes to Riverdale season 6’s release date. The gang will return at 9 p.m. ET on Tuesday, November 16—aka today!! Important note: This means the show is switching from Wednesday nights to Tuesday nights (and airing an hour later)!! The show is also coming back as a five-episode event—dubbed Rivervale—and will air once a week through the end of the year. The rest of the season is expected to pick back up sometime in 2022.

Will the whole cast return for season 6?

Based on the trailer, presumably yes. But if some of the Riverdale cast jumped ship and devote more time to making movies or pilots or having babies or whatever, I wouldn’t be too surprised.

Also, a seven-year time jump happened in season 5, after which many of the main characters might have moved on from the town or, like…died. There will probably be some new characters whose stories will continue too, so it’s possible the show will keep going as we’ve known it, but it also may look different than what we’re used to too.

What will Riverdale season 6 even be about?

A lot of that is going to depend on that whole time-jump thing. Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Cheryl, and Toni will soon be in their mid-20s with totally different lives and jobs and (presumably) mysteries to solve. While Riverdale is really only loosely based on the Archie comics at this point, it is comforting to remember that those comics have gone on forever and have storylines about the iconic teenage characters as adults too.

What am I supposed to do until Riverdale season 6 tonight?

You could binge Chilling Adventures of Sabrina? Finally watch Katy Keene? There may be another spin-off coming for you to dig into as well. CW Chairman and CEO Mark Pedowitz told Deadline he has discussed the possibility of even more Archie-verse with showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, saying, “I do know he’s thinking long-term on how to continue the Riverdale situation.” Honestly, even though it’s vague AF, we’ll take it!
