Everyone's Freaking Out Over This Brush That Claims to Straighten Your Hair

From Good Housekeeping

For lots of folks with wavy or curly hair, blowing it out or flat ironing it seem like the only options for achieving a stick-straight 'do. But a video of one product has gone totally viral for seemingly changing all that. Texas radio station 98.3 KORA posted this clip of a woman apparently straightening her hair with just a brush in barely any time at all. See it for yourself:

In the video, the woman brushes her thick, wavy hair to a smooth finish using the Dafni Brush. Originally posted in October, the video has been making the rounds - it's already racked up 87 million views and over 1.3 million shares. But is this brush all it's cracked up to be?

Since the video was created by the brand behind the brush, the team over at Tech Insider wanted to see for themselves if it really works. In a new video revealing their findings, a Tech Insider experimenter noted that while it straightened her hair to a certain extent, the brush wasn't truly effective because it couldn't reach into the top inch or so of her thick curls.

Plus, the price tag is a potential downside - it costs a whopping $300. So you might want to wait for more reviews to roll in before you drop that kind of cash. In the meantime, if you're looking for a tool that's been vetted by the Beauty Lab at the Good Housekeeping Institute, try one of these flat irons instead. Even the splurge-worthy option, at $220, is well under the price of the Dafni Brush, while the top pick is just $80.
