'Virgin River' Season 5 Will Answer Some Major Questions
The time has finally come: Virgin River season 5 is just about here after a year long wait from the season 4 premiere. We've been standing by for some new episodes for what seems like forever at this point, and now, we're going to get them! We know, it doesn't feel real—but we promise it's not too good to be true! Soon enough, we'll be watching our beloved characters live their unpredictable lives in the gorgeous mountainous town we wish we could visit ourselves. (Oh that's right, we can!) Plus, we're more than glad to receive some much-needed answers to some questions that have been on our mind since the season 4 finale!
To the show's credit, we did uncover something we've all been wanting to know: Jack is the father of Mel's baby. Everybody who watches the show could be heard letting out the biggest sigh of relief once that was cleared up. While many of the storylines are coming full circle, we still have some outstanding questions: Who is the father of Charmaine’s twins? Is Vince dead? Is Preacher going to take the fall for Wes’s death? And what does this mean for Preacher and Julia? (or Preacher and Paige for that matter!)
Well, the wait is finally over! Not only is the fall premiere date basically here, we also have some first-look photos of the upcoming season as well as an 11-minute preview of the first episode! Here's everything we know about Virgin River season 5.
Is there a season 5 of Virgin River?
Yes! Back in January 2022, we were told that filming of season 5 was going to happen later than expected. And after lots of hearsay, Annette O'Toole (aka, Hope) confirmed with us in an exclusive interview that filming finally began in July of last year. Then in November, Virgin River confirmed they had wrapped up filming by posting a cute behind-the-scenes video to their official Instagram page. "That’s a WRAP on Season 5! 😉," the video was captioned.
When will season 5 of Virgin River premiere?
It's official: Virgin River Season 5 will premiere on September 7, 2023. Though, that's not all: Virgin River will also be releasing two holiday episodes that premiere on November 30! (Consider this news an early Christmas gift!)
What will season 5 of Virgin River be about?
From the looks of it, season 5 will have a lot of heart-warming moments, romance, and dramatic events, including wildfires that shake up the entire town, intense court hearings, baby drama, and more.
If that sounds like a lot, just wait 'til you hear this: Netflix released an 11-minute preview of the first episode of season 5 before the premiere! Not only does it give fans a sneak peek at what's to come, but it also gives us a few of the answers we've been waiting for right off the bat. Hint: Someone who we suspected to be dead isn't really dead.
In all, there's a lot more uncovered in those 11-minutes, so we can't even imagine what the entirety of the season will entail!
Is there a trailer?
Yes! The trailer covers some important issues: Mel's pregnancy, Preacher's love life, and lots of shocking events that are sure to shake up the small town. Though, as Hope says at the end of the trailer, they will "rise from the ashes."
