Everyone Can Be a Cake Decorating Pro with Nestlé’s New Chocolate Curls

Decorating your homemade baked goods to look like a professional baker’s masterpiece is about to get much easier (just in time for holiday baking season!). While there’s no shortage of fun frosting techniques and gorgeous sprinkles out there, Nestlé Toll House is releasing three kinds of chocolate curls you can add to cookies, cupcakes, cakes, and any other dessert that needs a little extra decadence. While it's pretty easy to make your own chocolate curls, you can always have them at your fingertips with Nestlé’s version without having to pull out your vegetable peeler.

Snagging a container of Nestlé’s chocolate curls is easier than going out to buy several different types of chocolate blocks and bars, too. They come in classic chocolate and white chocolate curls, but Nestlé's third variety screams holiday baking. Those curls are shaved from red and white chocolate, so they look like tiny candy cane-style curls. The combo of red and white can make any dessert look festive, whether it’s a plain vanilla-frosted cake or glazed sugar cookies.

Since the holiday season hasn’t quite arrived, you might have trouble tracking down the red and white curls if you go searching for them today. However, the chocolate and white chocolate varieties have already hit shelves nationwide. According to Nestlé, those two are at retailers across the country, including Giant Eagle, Hy-Vee, Meijer, Publix, and Schnucks Markets. Each 3.8-oz. container of the curls will run you about $3.99.

There are plenty of summer desserts you could dress up with chocolate curls before the holidays arrive (we could easily see them on top of an ice cream float or decorating a birthday cake). When you do get a head start on baking for Thanksgiving and Christmas, be on the lookout for chocolate curls to add to your cookies, cakes, and hot chocolate. While you’re at it, snag a bag of Nestlé’s espresso chips to toss into your cookies, too.
