EverybodyWorld Has Just the Thing for the Eco-Conscious Traveler on Your List

For the eco-minded people on your holiday gifting list, finding the perfect sustainable present can require some serious researching—but a new collaboration is aiming to make it that much easier this season. EverybodyWorld, a sustainable fashion brand based in L.A., has partnered with the Ace Hotel on a series of up-cycled travel goods made from the hotel chain’s retired linens, and the environmentally conscious pieces happen to make the perfect stocking stuffers.

Made from the Ace’s recycled towels and sheets, which are made with high-quality organic cotton, EverybodyWorld cofounders Iris Alonzo and Carolina Crespo created a special capsule collection of five unisex items, all focused on travel essentials. A weekend duffel bag, eye mask, slippers, and zippered pouches in two different sizes come in an array of colors including black, red, yellow and blue (prices for the line range from $35 to $210).

The idea stemmed from a conversation the duo had with the Ace Hotel team regarding its surplus of old linens. “When we heard that Ace Hotels were not able to recycle their retired linens, we immediately put our heads together to come up with creative ways to salvage and extend its useful life,” said Alonzo. The pair sourced linens from some of the hotel’s outposts, and then treated and dyed them to their liking. “We collected the linens from all of the Ace Hotel properties in the United States to one hub in Los Angeles,” said Crespo. “Then, we sorted by size, dyed to our color scheme, quilted them with 100% cotton batting, and then treated those quilts as a new textile to make the collection with.”

This isn’t the first time the two have collaborated: Earlier in July, the two brands partnered on a series of upcycled bath towels, designed by design writer Felix Burrichter. And Everybody.World’s ethos is part of a larger movement in fashion: brands have increasingly begun embracing more eco-minded practices, whether it be developing alternative fabrics or implementing new strategies to eliminate unnecessary waste.

The collection will be available on the Ace Hotel’s website, in a pre-sale beginning on November 19, then available globally on December 1—as well as online at EverbodyWorld.
