When coronavirus turned the restaurant industry upside down, diners turned to delivery and takeout from local shops, but also fast food joints. From the time COVID-19 began to rapidly spread in March, one chain, in particular, saw a steady incline in traffic because of its 1950s-style carhop service. Here’s the lowdown on where each state in the contiguous United States is getting greasy eats during the pandemic.

Methodology:
Market research company Top Data analyzed the year over year average percent change in the number of visits experienced by each fast food restaurant chain. This particular data set compares June 2019 to June 2020. Alaska and Hawaii were not included.
