Christmas! The time for family, decorations, presents, and, of course, movies. We all know the simple pleasure of heading to a real movie theater on Christmas Day for those new releases, which are objectively the best of the year. (Sorry, summer.) And this year, Hollywood is not gonna disappoint.

We’ve got a roundup of every film you can get out of your house to see on a gigantic screen on December 25—prepare yourself for reboots and sequels and reboots of sequels. And don’t worry—if you’re anxious to get to the theater before Christmas, we’ve also got a few films you can see before the actual holiday.

December 13

Black Christmas

This is actually the second remake of the original 1974 horror movie about a serial killer targeting sorority girls on a college campus around the holidays. Honestly, who isn’t in the mood to watch a bunch of badass females take down a murderer. Huge 2020 energy.

Jumanji: The Next Level

The gang is back this year for the second installment of the franchise reboot. Watch The Rock, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and more return to the Scariest Game Ever Played. If you’re not in it for the action and adventure, you can probs be convinced by the Nick Jonas appearance.

December 20

Cats

The Broadway musical about...even Idris Elba, who’s in the movie, is still not sure...is being brought to the big screen, complete with Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson, James Corden, and Jason Derulo, whose cat-acting skills are so amazing, they are best explained by the very trailer above. Sooo many questions.

Bombshell

The film about the downfall of Roger Ailes and the misogynistic culture at Fox News is finally here. I’ve been having nightmares about Charlize Theron as Megyn Kelly since the first day those first Bombshell trailers dropped. This will be my exposure therapy.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

I know you’re thinking, How are they still making these movies? (Because same.) But this is apparently the final film of the Star Wars franchise that began in the 1970s. And it’s supposed to answer all the questions you’ve acquired over the years, including whether Princess Leia’s hair affected her hearing.

Christmas Day

Little Women

Greta Gerwig’s adaptation of the Louisa May Alcott book is not only star-studded (we’re talking Saoirse Ronan, an American version of Emma Watson, Meryl Streep, AND Timothée Chalamet), it’s also sure to make you leave the theater in tears. Sry, just giving you a merry heads-up.

1917

There’s always gotta be a war film. Benedict Cumberbatch and Colin Firth star in this WWI movie about soldiers entering enemy territory in order to save thousands of their own men. Expectations: slightly higher than whatever Game of Thrones sequel they eventually decide to make.

Just Mercy

Based on a true story, Just Mercy follows Michael B. Jordan (YAS) as a lawyer who fights to free a wrongfully accused man (played by Jamie Foxx) on death row for the murder of an 18-year-old girl. We’ll just be over here, imagining MBJ getting loud in a courtroom, his muscles visibly tense under a suit jacket as he gets more and more sexily indignant.

Spies in Disguise

In this animated movie, Will Smith is a secret agent who gets turned into a pigeon on accident by a scientist (voiced by Tom Holland). Kind of a superhero story in reverse.

Uncut Gems

And finally, Adam Sandler plays an NYC jeweler with a gambling problem. Also, The Weeknd plays himself, which, without spoiling anything, makes Mr. Abel Tesfaye look like a major douche. Bella (or Selena or whoever he’s wooing this holiday season) will say sorry to this man, guarantee it.
