Saturday Night Live wants everyone to be nicer to their moms.

Last year, the late-night comedy show debuted a new holiday sketch that shows what it's really like being a mother on Christmas morning. (Spoiler alert: It's not always fun!)

The hilarious musical number features actress and comedian Kristen Wiig as an exhausted mom who gets woken up early by her kids to open presents on December 25th. It starts off fun for the whole family—but things quickly go downhill from there.

Kristen's fictional family, played by SNL cast members Beck Bennett, Kyle Mooney and Chloe Fineman, spend the rest of the skit showing off all the amazing presents they scored for Christmas. Toys, electronics, clothes, sports memorabilia—you name it, they got it.

As for Kristen? Well, she got...a robe. And, in true mom fashion, she tries her best to act excited about the fluffy pink loungewear.

"Thanks for the robe, it's really, really nice," Kristen raps. "I love this robe, guys, this is great."

As her husband and children continue to tear open more extravagant gifts, Kristen announces that she's going to make breakfast. (Hey, moms—does this sound familiar yet? 😂) Then, she accidentally burns her arm on the oven.

"It hurt pretty bad but I didn't even scream, because I keep the pain inside of me," Kristen sings.

The poor mother finishes off her morning by realizing that her stocking is empty, the family dog got more gifts (including a robe) than she did, and her husband posted a makeup-free selfie of her on Facebook. Merry Christmas, indeed!

"Your mom does everything for your family," a voice-over says at the end of the sketch. "This year, get her more than one present. Moms like stuff too!"
