2000: Lopez Buys Her First Los Angeles Mansion

Following the success of her first hit song “If You Had My Love,” which she released in 1999, Lopez made her first major real estate move in Los Angeles. She purchased a seven-bedroom, seven-and-a-half-bathroom home for $4.3 million. Located in a gated community called The Summit, the luxury pad overlooks Beverly Hills and Studio City. Other enviable features include an infinity-edge pool, a tennis court, a guesthouse, and a chicken coop. Lopez made quite a profit when she sold the home for $10.95 million in 2004. The property has since been owned by other celebrities, including Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale who bought the estate for $13.25 million and eventually sold it for $21.65 million in 2019.

2002: Lopez Secures a Beachfront Home in Miami

Lopez then set her sights on the opposite coast with the purchase of her first Miami home in 2002 for a reported $9.5 million. The Mediterranean-style home made an excellent expansion to her luxury real estate portfolio thanks to its waterfront location facing Biscayne Bay and nearly 10,800 square footage of interior space with eight bedrooms. A pool, a gazebo, and a dock for enjoying the 184 feet of bay frontage made it a sweet escape. Lopez eventually sold the home for $13.9 million in 2005. After a major gut renovation, it eventually landed in signer Phil Collins’s hands, who sold it for more than $39 million in 2020.

2004: Lopez Moves Into a Long Island Estate With Marc Anthony

After marrying Latin star Marc Anthony in 2004, Lopez moved into his Georgian-style brick manor house in the village of Brookville on New York’s Long Island. Built in 1941, the 16-room abode came with a matching pool house and carriage house. Anthony purchased the property for $3.7 million in 2000 and enlisted Queer Eye for the Straight Guy alum Thom Felicia to decorate the 10,084-square-foot home. Lopez and Anthony expanded the estate by combining it with a nearby $2 million colonial home. At this compound, the couple raised their twins who were born in 2008. The pair split in 2014, and Anthony sold the estate for $4.5 million in 2017.

2010: Lopez Scoops Up an $8.2 Million Home in California

In 2010, Lopez bought a traditional-style home in California’s Hidden Hills for $8.2 million. Situated on three acres, the nine-bedroom, 13-bathroom main house looked out onto panoramic city views, a large pool, and rolling lawns with equestrian trail access. With 17,000 square feet of living space, the home featured an entertainment wing complete with a movie theater, dance studio, recording studio, and wood-paneled lounge with a wet bar. When Lopez listed the home for $17 million in 2015, the superstar had trouble finding buyers. In 2017, it finally sold for around $10 million.

2013: Lopez Invests in a $10 Million Hamptons Hideaway

Lopez leveled up her real estate holdings with the purchase of a Hamptons home for $10 million. Located in Water Mill, the 8,660-square-foot property with a classic shingle-style exterior was built in 2004 and sits on three acres with a private cul-de-sac. The eight-bedroom home’s standout features include a massive lawn, pool, sauna, steam room, and movie theater. Lopez still owns the home, where she’s been known to spend Fourth of July weekends with her husband Ben Affleck in recent years.

2014: Lopez Shells Out $20 Million for a New York City Penthouse

After putting down roots in the Hamptons, Lopez made another major New York purchase: a $20 million duplex penthouse in Manhattan’s Flatiron District. She secured the 6,500-square-foot unit overlooking Madison Square Park in 2014. It boasts four bedrooms, six bathrooms, and high-end finishes—from oak flooring to marble bathrooms. Not only that, but the lavish pad comes with 3,000 square feet of outdoor space (yes, you read that right!) spread across multiple terraces. She listed the home in 2017 for $27 million. After years on and off the market, it was last listed for just under $25 million in 2023. Lopez still hasn’t been able to offload the home.

2016: Lopez Buys a Bel-Air Compound for $28 Million

Continuing to build an epic real estate portfolio, Lopez purchased a 14,000-square-foot Bel-Air estate from actress Sela Ward for $28 million. The California residence remained her home base for many years, and it’s not hard to see why. The French country-style home was originally built in 1940 by famed architect Samuel Marx. Covered in lush foliage, the eight-acre property boasts a 100-seat amphitheater, 30-seat screening room, koi ponds, and a guest house with a private gym. In 2023, she sold the estate for $34 million.

2018: Lopez and Alex Rodriguez Purchase a $15.3 Million Condo in NYC

Lopez and Alex Rodriguez took a big step in their relationship after roughly one year of dating when they bought a Manhattan condo for a whopping $15.3 million. The Park Avenue base measures 4,000 square feet with three bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms. The apartment isn’t located in just any luxury building with stellar amenities—including a gym, 75-foot pool, and boardroom; it’s in 432 Park Avenue, one of New York City’s tallest and most sought-after residential buildings. But the couple didn’t hang onto the unit for long. They put it on the market less than a year later, citing that they needed more room for their blended family. It sold for $17.5 million in 2019.

2019: Lopez and Rodriguez Snap Up a $6.6 Million Malibu Beach House

On their hunt for more space, Lopez and Rodriguez looked across the country. They landed on a $6.6 million beach house located in the heart of Malibu. The 4,404-square-foot property boasts multiple terraces across three stories and 50 feet of sandy beachfront. Equipped with glass walls and doors that offer unobstructed ocean views, the four-bedroom abode was certainly a sizable upgrade from their NYC condo. After Lopez revealed she’s a Fixer Upper fan, it was rumored that she and Rodriguez tapped Joanna Gaines to help renovate the home. In the end, the couple sold the home for nearly $6.8 million in 2020.

2020: Lopez Grabs a $1.4 Million Residence in California

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Lopez bought a roughly $1.4 million home in Encino, California. Built in 1948, the remodeled home features three bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms across 2,202 square feet on a single level. The interiors exude a neutral, contemporary color palette thanks to white walls, gray kitchen cabinetry, and black-framed windows and doors throughout. It’s unclear what exactly Lopez purchased the home for considering her other properties at the time had much more space for hosting her blended family with Rodriguez.

2020: Lopez and Rodriguez Buy a $32.5 Million Mansion in Miami

The same year, Lopez and Rodriguez shelled out $32.5 million for a waterfront home on Miami’s Star Island. The exclusive, man-made island in Florida’s Biscayne Bay is where many A-listers have lived, including Shaquille O’Neal, Gloria Estefan, and Don Johnson. JLo and A-Rod’s Mediterranean-style property includes 10 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms across 14,764 square feet. Not to mention, it has a bevy of amenities featuring an infinity pool, a guesthouse, a wine room, and a library. While the couple split less than a year later, there’s no word yet on the fate of that estate. However, Rodriguez reportedly bought another home on the island for $18.5 million in 2022.

2023: Lopez and Ben Affleck Buy a Nearly $61 Million Beverly Hills Home

Bennifer—aka Lopez and Ben Affleck—got back together in 2021 and tied the knot in 2022. By 2023, they secured a Beverly Hills residence for a reported $61 million—and they paid in cash. Located in the gated community called Wallingford Estates, the 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom property sits on five acres and contains 38,000 square feet of living space. Built in 2000, the Georgian-style home with mountain views underwent renovations in 2017 and was listed for $135 million in 2018 (so technically, Bennifer got a deal!). The home also comes with a 12-car garage, a palatial pool, and a sports complex with a boxing ring, gym, and pickleball court. We can’t imagine the couple is itching to expand their real estate portfolio after this mega purchase, but we’ll certainly be keeping our eye out.
