These events will celebrate Pride in 2024: Here's the mid-Hudson Valley calendar

Pride month is starting ahead of schedule in the mid-Hudson Valley this year, with early celebrations kicking off later this month and events continuing throughout the month of June.

There is certain to be a parade, festival, fair or celebration happening near you.

Take a look below at our curated list of events to celebrate Pride locally in 2024.

2024 Pride in the mid-Hudson Valley

Pride in the Sky, Walkway Over the Hudson: Friday, May 17

From 6-10 p.m. Friday, this free event is inviting LGBTQ+ community groups to set up booths in the parks on either side of the bridge to preview their events for Pride month. On the bridge, the Walkway will be featuring its new LED lights, lighting up the sky rainbow, with a DJ dance party at the Walkway's Center Overlook, with hosts and performers from the LGBTQ+ community.

If you plan to attend, please register for the event on Big Gay Hudson Valley's website, biggayhudsonvalley.com/events-calendar/pride-in-the-sky/. Participants are encouraged to wear something illuminated to add to the festivities. All are welcome, including pets. Find out all the details about the event on walkway.org. New Paltz Pride Parade and Festival: Saturday, June 1

The Hudson Valley LGBTQ+ Community Center and the New Paltz Pride Coalition are partnering to present the Hudson Valley Pride March and Festival at New Paltz, with the march starting at noon at New Paltz Middle School. The festival will be in Hasbrouck Park until 5 p.m. Any organizations, businesses or groups planning to march in the parade need to register to join the Pride March, and applications are still open to book your space at the festival as a vendor on hvpride.org.

Stanford Pride 2024: Saturday, June 1

Celebrate the third annual Stanford Pride Event at Thomases Equestrian in Clinton Corners from 1-4 p.m. with the community. You'll find music, food and activities for all ages. All are welcome to the festivities to recognize unity and celebrate diversity. For more information, check out stanfordnypride.org.

Dutchess Pride Festival: Saturday, June 8

Dutchess County Pride Center will be bringing back Poughkeepsie Pride Parade and Festival for the sixth year. The lineup for the parade starts at Market Street at 11 a.m. between the Eastbound Arterial and Main Street. The march begins at noon following Main Street down to John M. Flowers Circle at Waryas Park, where the festival will be. There you'll find over 70 local food vendors, creatives, businesses as well as a bounce house and kids zone until 5 p.m. Rachael Sage, New York City-based alt-folk-pop singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, will be performing at 3 p.m. For more information on Poughkeepsie Pride 2024, see dutchesspride.org/pok-pride-2024.

Warwick Pride Celebration: Sunday, June 9

Warwick Valley Community Center is hosting a Rise and Shine Warwick Pride Celebration from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The day commences with a rainbow bagel brunch at the community center, where you can help decorate a float, go to those tabling, and connect with like-minded individuals in the community. The Funk Rust Band will be leading the parade beginning at 1:30 p.m., and the parade will end at Memorial Park, where celebrations including a Pride show and vendors will go from 2:30-5 p.m. For more details and information about the event, see the community center's Facebook page, facebook.com/WarwickValleyCommunityCenter, where you'll find the featured event.

Woodstock Pride Weekend: June 7-9

Join Woodstock New York Pride for a weekend of events celebrating Pride month. Friday there will be a Pride flag-raising ceremony. Saturday there will be a Pride Tea Dance and a special showing of "Go Fish," with director and co-writer Rose Troche. On Sunday, meditate with pride in the morning, hosted by Marisa Viola, go to the parade, and end of at the Colony Woodstock's celebration. The parade lineup begins at 11 a.m. at the Comeau Upper Lot, a ribbon cutting will occur there at noon, and the step off to Colony starts at 12:15.

BeckHook Pride Celebration: Sunday, June 9

Rhinebeck and Red Hook will be having a combined Pride month celebration for the second year in a row at Church of the Messiah in Rhinebeck from 2-5 p.m. There will be food, resources, games, crafts, music and dancing for all ages at this free event. Visit with local organizations, collect free discount cards from participating local businesses and receive one free raffle ticket for their drawing later at the event. Pride Night at Heritage Financial Park: Tuesday, June 11

Heritage Financial Park, formerly Dutchess Stadium, has designated June 11 to be Pride night at the park from 6:35-10 p.m., with the game that night between the Hudson Valley Renegades and the Brooklyn Cyclones. For T-shirt Tuesday, the first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a special T-shirt presented by Heritage Financial Credit Union. Learn more and purchase tickets at heritagefinancialpark.com.

Kingston Pride 2024: June 13-16

There will be a multitude of events in Kingston from Thursday, June 13 to Sunday, June 16 celebrating Pride month, and there's something for everyone to enjoy. Some events include Collage Art Night at Everywhere Shop, themed nights at Unicorn Bar, and a pet parade to Pride Alley, Kingston's Pride Festival. From 1-7 p.m., between Camp Kingston and Keegan Ales, enjoy food and drink, an outdoor market, DJs, live music, community sessions and dancing. Village of Red Hook Pride Parade: Saturday, June 22

BeckHook Pride, Co. will also be hosting the Red Hook Village Pride Parade starting at 10 a.m. to further boost community pride. Following the parade, there will be a celebration in the municipal lot with music, performances and light refreshments. Pride on the Green 2024, Newburgh: Sunday, June 23

Safe Harbors on the Hudson is hosting Pride on the Green for the first time from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The day of events starts with the march from Newburgh Brewing Company to the Green on Liberty Street. At noon the festivities officially kick off with music on the mainstage, a drag queen story hour with other performances following, dancing and more music until 7:30 p.m. For more information, check out safe-harbors.org/events/pride-on-the-green/.
