If you're looking for new vegan treats to try, check out Partake Foods.

Founded in 2017, Partake set out to provide delicious vegan snacks—a huge blind spot in grocery stores at the time. Partake's products are also completely free of the nine most common allergens: peanuts, eggs, dairy, soy, tree nuts, sesame, fish, wheat, and shellfish. In 2019, Jay-Z invested in the brand and helped Partake Foods grow into the successful business it is today.

"Partake has the ingredients to build a mass market brand: compelling values, a great tasting product and a tenacious and experienced operator," said Marcy Venture Partners co-founder and managing director Larry Marcus in 2019, Entrepreneur reported. "We are honored to back [Partake Founder] Denise [Woodard] and the team and help grow their business."

The brand has become known for its cookie flavors—chocolate chip, lemon, double chocolate brownie, double chocolate, ginger snap, birthday cake, and cookie butter, plus seasonal options. Some other popular Partake items include pizza crust baking mix, pumpkin spice muffin baking mix, brownie and blondie mixes, confetti pancake and waffle mix, and a classic pancake mix.

When I taste-tested their products, Partake Foods' crunchy cookies were my favorite. They are sturdy and have the smooth consistency that you'd expect from traditional bite-size cookies containing dairy. The brownie mix was another favorite—it yields chewy brownies that melt in your mouth for a satisfying sweet treat.

Partake Foods strives to champion food inclusivity and fight food insecurity across the country. According to Foodallergy.org, one in 13 children have food allergies, and Black children are at a significantly higher risk of developing them. The brand is also raising awareness around Black and female entrepreneurs and increasing opportunities for this underrepresented demographic. In 2020, Partake's founder Denise Woodard started Black Futures in Food & Beverage, a fellowship program that mentors HBCU students and helps them secure internships and jobs.

Partake Foods is a delicious Black-owned vegan food brand making tasty snacks that take the junk out of junk food. If you've been curious about incorporating more vegan options into your diet, Partake Foods is a great place to start.
