Here’s How to Get an Even Deeper Stretch from Downward Dog |

Our favorite yoga pose will always be child’s pose, but we also love downward dog for giving us a truly great stretch and elongating our spine. So we couldn't wait to try this handy little trick to getting an even deeper stretch. All you need is a yoga strap and a sturdy doorknob.

Step 1: Open the door enough so that you can access both sides of the doorknob and fit both feet on either side of the door. Loop one side of your yoga strap around both handles and slip the other side over your head.

Step 2: Position the belt around your hips, place your hands on the floor and step both feet back into downward dog so they are positioned on either side of the door.

Step 3: Stretch it out. Because the door and strap can support your weight, you can feel free to lean into the pose even more.
