Since the release on Dec. 20, the reactions to the movie Cats starring Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson, James Corden and Idris Elba, have been, well, not great. The issue for many fans of the stars and the original play was that they felt the CGI was over the top or even downright scary.
One person that shared the feelings of critics was Evan Rachel Wood. In a full live reaction video on Instagram stories, the Westworld star shared her not so thrilled thoughts about the film. "I have to have an actual live reaction of this," she said before leading into an expletive filled moment. "What? What? What…" she continued before literally screaming.
Apparently Wood's biggest gripe was not with the actors but with how the adaptation was executed. "They changed all the iconic choreography," she said. "Took out 70 percent of the main characters. Changed the plot. I grew up in theater. I was married to a dancer. I have massive respect for what they do which is why this was such a letdown and missed opportunity for that community.” She also mentioned that she has been in some bad films and that "no one is immune."
Luckily for Woods (and any other person who didn't love Cats), the filmmakers sent out a memo saying they would be adjusting some of the film's more controversial visual effects.
