Over the past week, Evan Felker's name has been plastered all over tabloids after reports broke that he is dating country superstar Miranda Lambert. The couple sparked controversy because rumors surfaced that Felker had allegedly been unfaithful to his wife, Staci Nelson Felker, with Lambert.

“He knew it was flirty and crossed a line with Staci," a source told People of text messages Felker, 34, and Lambert, 34, allegedly exchanged. "He showed her the whole thing and felt bad about it. He was like, ‘I don’t want to blow her off because this is the kind of money that can change our grandkids’ lives if I’m able to write with this person."

As expected, country music fans immediately began to wonder just who exactly Felker was. Here's everything you need to know about the man who stole Lambert's heart.

He is the lead singer of the Turnpike Troubadours.

Felker is one of the founding members of the country music group, Turnpike Troubadours. He also plays guitar, harmonic and writes songs for them. The band was formed in 2007, and consists of members R.C. Edwards, Kyle Nix, Ryan Engleman, Gabriel Pearson, and Hank Early. They are currently opening up for Lambert's Livin' Like Hippies tour, which is running from January to July.

He is originally from Oklahoma, where he attended tech school.

"I went to tech school to become an electrician, then worked in factories for a while before taking the plunge in music," he told the blog Songwriters on Process in 2017. "I worked in paper mills, food plants, and Mercury Marine in Stillwater."

Felker told Rolling Stone in October that if it were not for the country music genre Red Dirt, he may have never been inspired to break into the music industry. "I probably would've done something else if not for [Cross Canadian Ragweed and Great Divide]," he said. "I probably would've stayed at the mill. As a Podunk kid from Southeast Oklahoma, that was just inspiring."

He enjoys writing, and is a fan of Ernest Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald.

"I love the concision of Hemingway, but I also like the poetry of Fitzgerald that seems almost musical," he told Songwriters on Process. "And I know it's a cliché, but Hemingway's brevity appeals to me because that's how songwriters write. It's the iceberg theory: we'll give you just a little bit, but it's your job to make meaning of it and plumb the depths. I can appreciate Hemingway's cynicism, too."

He married Staci Nelson in September 2016.

Nelson still has several photos of her husband on her Instagram profile. After less than two years of marriage, Felker filed for divorce in mid-February, People reports. An unnamed source told the publication that “the notion that he was planning to divorce [Felker] before he met [Lambert] is complete insanity.”

He reportedly tried to have a baby with his wife before their split.

According to Us Weekly, an unnamed source said Nelson and Felker were “trying to have a baby” before the Turnpike Troubadours frontman went on tour with Lambert. “They did not have martial problems, so Staci did not think anything would happen,” the source said. “He went on tour and he did not come home.”
