Euphoria's Sydney Sweeney has officially been added as a co-star to Dakota Johnson in Sony Pictures' Marvel film, Madame Web.

Deadline reports that the S.J. Clarkson is also on board to direct the picture alongside Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless who are penning the screenplay. In the comics, Madame Web is portrayed as an elderly woman who suffers from myasthenia gravis which led her to be connected to a life-support system reminiscent of a spider web. Due to her age and medical condition, she was unable to actively fight any villains. Insiders have revealed that her psychic sensory powers could lead her to become Sony's version of Doctor Strange.

It is uncertain who Sweeney will play in the film. With Madame Web, Sony hopes to continue with its hot streak after Venom: Let There Be Carnage made over $500 million USD worldwide and Spider-Man: No Way Home made $1.85 billion in worldwide sales.

Stay tuned for more details. The release date has yet to be announced.
