Euphoria Star Barbie Ferreira's First-Ever Makeup Collaboration Is Here to Put You in a Much Better Mood

As if Barbie Ferreira weren't already fearless enough in the makeup department, she's been experimenting with new looks and products more than ever while in self-quarantine. "If I’m feeling really bored at home after three weeks, I’ll do a really crazy makeup look or just try something out that I wouldn't have [otherwise] because I don’t have the pressure of actually going outside with it," she tells Allure. "Or when I feel like it’s going to be a not-so-good day, I will do my makeup and put on an outfit and just hang around the house."

Thankfully, the Euphoria star has a brand-new product to keep her occupied at home for the coming months: her first-ever makeup collaboration. Not long after becoming the first celebrity spokesperson for Becca, the duo has created a limited-edition liquid highlighter shade for face and body called Love. The shade joins five others in the brand's permanent line of Ignite Liquified Light Face & Body Highlighters, which launched in March, but Love is the only one with Ferreira's expert touch.

"I thought it was a really good opportunity to bring in all the things that I’ve done in my years of modeling and working with brands and [imagine] what my dream product would be and how that would be marketed, how that would look, and how accessible it would be for people," Ferreira says. "I had a lot of say in collaboration with Becca on the marketing, on the product itself, on the way the box looks — it's definitely cool; it's like watching those documentaries on how to make makeup."

The shade itself looks like a pearlescent white at first glance, but subtle multicolored pigments come to life when it's spread across the skin to create a wet-looking sheen that's a little bit opal, a little bit gold, and a little bit pink all at once. Not to mention that it's wildly low effort. "I rub it into my hands and then I dab it over my cheekbones and above my eyebrows — not the whole eyebrow but just the ends of it, on top," Ferreira explains. "Then I’ll do a little on my Cupid’s bow and a little bit on the tip of my nose."

Ferreira's Euphoria character, Kat, would absolutely wear the Love highlighter, by the way. In fact, Kat has probably worn something very similar onscreen. "We used a lot of Becca products on Euphoria, I think," Ferreira recalls. "Obviously, Euphoria's about glittery and shimmery and really cartoon-y looks, so [Love] definitely works in that world."

So fans of the show can consider this collaboration the perfect way to tide themselves over before season two arrives. According to Ferreira, social distancing measures were put in place just before filming was scheduled to start. That said, the show's highly anticipated second season might not debut when originally expected. Aside from being a placeholder for Kat's sassy quips and out-there outfits, Ferreira just hopes Love puts you in a really good mood.

"I think no one has had any idea that this thing could happen and the world could shut down for so long," she says. "I really hope that we’ll make people smile, or forget about their troubles for a little bit, or feel good about being home and putting on something that makes them feel good for themselves."
