[Spoilers ahead for this season of Euphoria. If you’re not fully caught up yet, get on out of this post and find your nearest laptop ASAP.]

The season finale of Euphoria is already this Sunday, and based on last week’s episode, it’s really hard to predict where the hell this plot is going. Luckily (or unluckily, depending on your point of view), the answer to this might be right in front of our faces.

In case you didn’t know, Euphoria is actually based on an Israeli show of the same name, which aired from 2012 to 2013. The U.S. version is definitely different, but the general themes of struggling through being a teenager, dealing with mental-health issues, and recovering from drug addiction are all present in both.

Based on that, some fans of the U.S. version have started to figure out the plot of the original to see if they can figure out what’ll happen at the end, which brings us to the tweet below.

Let me preface this by saying that I have not personally seen the other version and information about it is not super available online. Grains of salt all around, okay? Here goes nothing.

Umm...whoa. That took a VERY dark turn. Before you freak out about the thought of Fez turning out to be a Bad Guy, here’s why this seems really unlikely.

Nate is a violent person, obviously, but it seems CRAZY to think about him murdering Jules in cold blood IN FRONT of someone else. Like, what would stop Rue from going to the cops after that to turn him in? Also, why would Ashtray care about what happened to Rue’s friend who he doesn’t even really know? Plus, the U.S. version has set up Fez to be nothing but loving and protective of Rue this entire time. It would be a huge change of character for him to suddenly be so angry at her that he’d rape her. So, like I said, grains of salt!!

Apparently, the Israeli version also ends with Rue being dead the entire time, narrating the show from beyond the grave. Of all the possible endings, that seems the most likely. Read more about that here.
