Ethan Slater's Estranged Wife Lilly Jay Is "Completely Blindsided" by His Relationship With Ariana Grande

As you may have definitely heard last week, Ariana Grande is reportedly dating her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater—which was a shock to everyone, including, apparently, his recently estranged wife Lilly Jay.

Ethan and Lilly were together for ten years before their split, got married in 2018, and have a baby son together. And while TMZ notes that Ethan and Ariana didn’t start dating until after their separation, Lilly did not see it coming.

As in, a source tells Page Six that she was “completely blindsided” by news of Ariana and Ethan dating, adding “It’s horrible. They were high school sweethearts. They have a baby! She’s a wreck." Oh, and this insider also thinks that Ariana and Ethan's vibes are the reason he and Lilly "suddenly break up now when nothing appeared wrong between them."

Meanwhile, another source (so many sources, so little time) tells Entertainment Tonight that Lilly is "devastated" and "this is not the future she had in mind," but "She's doing her best to get back on her feet. She's incredibly smart and driven" and is "truly the best mother."

Back in November, Ethan reportedly wrote an anniversary post to Lilly on Instagram (he's since gone private), saying, “My best friend. 4 years married, 10 years together. And this is easily the best and most (*bizarre*) year yet.” More recently in May, he wrote, “Happy first Mother’s Day, to the most loving caring and wonderful mom/person in the world, from me and this little guy.”

Again, sources have also stressed that both Ethan and Ariana were single going into their relationship, with one insider confirming to People, “Ariana and Dalton [Gomez] separated in January. She and Ethan recently began dating, and he is separated from his wife.”
