Estonian Rapper Tommy Cash Gets into Bed with Rick Owens and Michèle Lamy

Has Estonian rapper Tommy Cash uploaded another freakishly doctored image to his Instagram? Take a second look. Yesterday, Cash and his pencil-thin mustache were captured in bed with none other than the designer Rick Owens and his partner Michèle Lamy. Though Cash has previously created bizarre scenarios on Instagram—like photoshopping himself into a dress made to look like a giant Croc clog—this moment happened IRL at Owens’s Paris apartment right before the designer’s rager performance at the Centre Pompidou for the FIAC International Contemporary Art Fair. Cash was pictured sandwiched in the middle of the creative couple and captioned the image: “i swear it’s not what it looks like [.]” Cash took a style cue from a shirtless, tan, and very ripped Owens, and also posed sans top. And though Lamy appeared cozily tucked in, she kept her signature look: a charcoal line drawn down her forehead, a slouchy tank top, and a fistful of hand ornaments and rings. The trifecta were captured by photographer Yulya Shadrinsky, a close working partner of Cash’s, and showed the three in front of a Soviet-style ornate rug of the kind that Cash might have grown up around in Estonia. (Fun fact: The rug was added especially for the occasion.) According to Cash, the trio ended up in bed quite simply. “We just took a little nap together before doing a show in [the] Pompidou museum,” writes Cash.

Cash has long had a deliciously weird history with Owens and Lamy. Back in 2018, Cash walked for the Rick Owens Spring 2019 menswear show. The relationship continued and, this past May, Cash staged an exhibition with Rick Owens in his home city of Tallinn, Estonia. (Owens and Lamy visited Cash earlier that March.) The exhibition titled “The Pure and the Damned” featured the warped, tongue-in-cheek imagery that Cash is so well-known for. Call this latest stunt a match made in heaven, or rather, in bed.
