Just because it's bright and beautiful outside doesn't mean we'll pass up a streaming session. (Honestly, sometimes we need to sit in an air-conditioned apartment and watch our favorite shows.) And, if said shows can pack on some female empowerment and motivate us to take on everything from a grueling workout to advocacy work? Even better.

That's exactly why we're spending this month streaming ESPN+, which just kicked off its Fifty/50 month today. The new lineup of content celebrates the 50th anniversary of the passing of Title IX, a federal civil rights law that banished same-sex discrimination and gave women the equal opportunity to participate in sports.

So, what can you expect from ESPN+ this month? Well, a lot. For starters, a Fifty/50-themed collection will serve up inspiring stories about our fave athletic GOATs. (Marion Jones? Venus Williams? Renee Richards? Check, check, and check.) Anyone who is a big fan of ESPN's 30 for 30 franchise needs to watch Kristen Lappas' "Dream On," a three-part documentary about the rise of the WNBA. (Mark your calendars: this one will be available to stream on June 15.) Have some aspiring athletes in your life? Head over to ESPNU, where 75% of available educational programing is devoted to women’s high school, collegiate, and professional sports.

Or, if you want to learn more about Title IX and its lasting effects on women's sports, ESPN+ has you covered with "37 Words." Directed by Dawn Porter & Nicole Newnham, this four-part series offers an in-depth look at the intersection of women, sports, culture and the fight for equality. While you're at it, you'll want to tune into the documentary's accompanying podcast and press play on Rita Ora's "Finish Line," the program's official song and your new summer anthem. The first half of "37 Words" premieres on June 21 and the remaining parts are available on June 28—and, trust us, the wait will be so worth it.

Of course, this line-up of can't-miss watches are only scratching the surface, so you'll have no shortage of programs to watch. But hurry! ESPN's Fifty/50 month ends on June 30—and you have a lot of streaming to do before then. Go ahead, open your ESPN+ app or sign up for a subscription. At $7 per month, it's safe to say this will be the best $7 you'll spend all summer.
