Erin Napier Reached a Major Milestone This Week and Husband Ben Had an Emotional Reaction

Congratulations are in order for Erin Napier! The HGTV star, small-town advocate, and mother of two has yet another title to add to the list: best-selling author!
Erin wrote The Lantern House with illustrator and fellow Laurel, Mississippi, resident Adam Trest. The children's book is an ode to the soul of a home and the families who live within its walls. The book made its debut at number three on the June 12 New York Times best-sellers list for children's picture books. Of course, no one is prouder than Erin's husband, Ben. Ben leaves love notes for Erin each morning, and he wrote her a special message on this monumental day.
Erin shared a post on Instagram with the caption, "This morning’s note from Ben had me feeling good about things no matter what we would find out, but I can’t believe my eyes. We did it, @adamtrest! 🏡😭❤️ #TheLanternHouse is a bestseller, thanks to all of you who supported it. Thank y’all so very much for that."
Erin shared the sweet (typewritten!) letter Ben wrote her on the morning of the announcement. He wrote, "Good morning!! Today is a big day. It is the first of june. School is out and families are embarking on their vacations. That is not what makes today big for us. Your children's book might be in the NYT best sellers list today. It might not be. The truth is, you and adam wrote and illustrated a beautiful story and book. People all over are falling in love with it and they will continue for decades. That, in itself is huge. Families will gather in their babies rooms or in big chairs or in libraries for generations to come and they will read the Lantern House. So, if it is on that list, then great, if not, it is still great. You are hearing a lot of noise around this thing that you made. Try not to listen. I love you. Your daughters love you. We also love this book. We are proud of you. You are an amazing person."
Erin's fans and fellow celebrities expressed their excitement. The Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond wrote, "YESSSSS!!! So so proud of you, friend!!!" and Drew Scott commented, "🙌🙌🙌❤️❤️." This Is Us star Chrissy Metz said, "How exciting! Congratulations! 🎉❤️✨" and Ben chimed in with, "AHHHHHH!!! My wife is a @nytimes bestseller author!!!"
On his Instagram page, Ben shared a video of the moment Erin told him the news. He wrote, "Tonight, I will go to bed with a bestselling author. She’s an incredibly talented artist, she has the voice of an angel, she is my best friend, she is my daughters’ mother, an amazing mother at that, and she is a freaking @nytimes bestselling author!!! I have loved her for nearly 20 years, and will love her for the rest of my life. It always makes me proud to call her my wife, but tonight, I couldn’t be prouder. Titles don’t mean anything in the big picture, but it feels good to be recognized for something you made. To @adamtrest and @erinapier, y’all did an incredible thing."
