A well-crafted charcuterie board never goes out of style. I just got back from Madrid, so I have been serving Jamón Serrano and Manchego from Spain to every single person who walks through my apartment door.

But did you know that charcuterie boards can be sweet, too? I had no clue until I stumbled upon Ashley Luengo's Christmas Cookie Dessert Board. Thanks to Instagram, my mind has once again been absolutely blown.

"I have always wanted to make a sweet charcuterie board for the holidays," the publisher of Modern Glam tells Delish. "Because the holidays are all about cookies, I knew it would be perfect to make a board centered around them."

Ashley's holiday charcuterie board isn't just beautiful to behold. It's also easy as pie to assemble, because it's made almost entirely out of cookies from Trader Joe's. My bank account can't argue with that.

"I used a mix of cookies from Trader Joe’s and some homemade versions," Luengo says. "This saves some time and money and makes the board interesting, too. You get the best of both worlds."

So grab a pen and paper, and jot down the following shopping list provided by Ashley:

  • Caramel Bites

  • Chocolate Covered Pretzel Twist

  • Cocoa Baton Wafer Cookies

  • Dark Chocolate Covered Peppermint Jo Joe’s

  • Dark Chocolate Mini Mint Stars

  • Dark Chocolate Minty Mallows

  • Hot Cocoa Dunkers

  • Mini Gingerbread Men

  • Mini Peppermint Meringues

  • Scandinavian Tidings gummies

  • Pomegranate

  • Raspberries

  • Fresh Greens

(If you plan to add her Ginger Molasses Cookies and Candy Cane Thumbprint Cookies, you can find the recipes here.)

When you get back from Trader Joe's, grab a flat tray without edges for an authentic charcuterie presentation. Ashley picked an antique European breadboard for her post, but any tray made out of marble or wood will do.

Assembly comes next. "This dessert board can be put together relatively easily, making it perfect for holiday entertaining," Ashley says. In fact, all you have to do is follow her handy-dandy infographic.

As if you don't already have enough reasons to love this dessert board, transporting it to Secret Santa parties is a breeze. Just grab some plastic wrap, and wrap up your board tight like a mummy.

So what are you waiting for? Pick up two reusable shopping bags and head out the door to Trader Joe's now.
