Enduro World Champion Teases A Return To Downhill Racing

The prevalent rumor in the racing world at the moment is that Enduro as a World Cup discipline is circling the drain.

While it is an unconfirmed rumor, many pros are seeing the writing on the wall and beginning to explore other options, namely downhill. One of the most prominent names to tease a return to downhilling is EWS World Champ Jack Moir who posted this cryptic message on January 4th.

Moir getting back on the horse would certainly shake up the field and open the door for more top tier Enduro riders to make the switch over at least for a few races a year.

Perhaps the most notable name to start switching from enduro to downhill last year was Richie Rude who also happened to be the EDR Enduro overall winner in the same season. Richie didn't win anything major, but even qualifying for World Cups while also holding onto the EDR overall is wildly impressive.

Tangent aside, I think we are going to see more top end enduro racers throwing their hats back in the ring for downhill. Jesse Melamed has also teased interest in giving Downhill a go. Those three together on the DH scene could give the old guard of downhill a run for their money. Hopefully we see some of them in there shaking things up this year.
