As you might now by now, Alexander Wang transformed a warehouse space in Manhattan into a club complete with seven pole dancers for his fashion show after party. As the night came to an end, we cornered Regina Armand, one of the talented dancers there that night, and got her to tell us how she landed the gig.

How did you end up here tonight?

I've been pole-dancing for about four years at a studio called Body and Pole. It's a huge studio in Chelsea. They not only do pole, they do stilts, swoop, floor work, conditioning classes, flexibility classes. I met Nicole the Pole [Williams] through another event, and she told me about it. I submitted a video.

You had to try out?

Yeah.

What was that like?

You just send in submission videos of you dancing and stuff like that and pictures of you, and then they chose out of those girls.

So you didn't have to dance in front of Alex?

During tech rehearsal, he did come and he was like, "When I run down, I want you guys to pose and then I want you guys to do your thing!" It was so cute.

What was your call time?

We had to be here at 7 p.m. We could come before, and then the people who did the models' makeup, they came did our makeup and then did our hair as well.

What is your fitness routine like? Do you just do pole-dancing or anything else?

I do pole, and occasionally, I'll run on a treadmill. I have a track background, so I ran track for six years, and I was always a dancer. Hip-hop, jazz, and stuff.

How do you build up the core strength that it takes to successfully pole dance?

Predominantly on the pole. Just going through routines, we do conditioning work for core, and you build upper body strength.

I saw a lot of you guys wiping down the pole and putting stuff on your hands. Tell me about that.

When you go to use the pole, you need to wipe it down with alcohol, just to make sure it's dry. We also use this stuff called Dry Hands. It's the same thing basketball and baseball players use to make your hands dry so you can hold on to the pole. In here, it's extremely hot, so we have to wipe it down. We can barely do tricks because we're sweating. We can't stick to the pole, so we're always like wiping it down.

Tell me about the costumes!

Alexander actually made these for us.

Did you have to be fitted by his studio?

No, actually they were all one-size-fits-all. It's this spandex material, so that fits all of us.

Do you have to give it back or is it yours?

Nope. We get to keep everything.

Are you going to keep it or are you going to eBay it?

I'm going to eBay it for sure.

What about the shoes?

They also bought the shoes for us, and we get to keep them.

Where do usually go to get your shoes?

I actually don't wear shoes to pole dance.

You don't?

I pole dance barefoot.

Is that common?

Yeah. Certain studios, my studio especially, there's not a lot of classes in heels.

When you're dancing, are the lights in your face or can you see us?

I can see.

Did any celebrities or people that you really admire come up and watch you dancing tonight?

No, I didn't see any come over, but I was walking back stage and I saw someone, and they were 'Oh, come over here, and stuff' and I was just like 'Okay, I'm going to keep walking.' Some of the celebrities, though, they have been posting us on Instagram. The Weeknd, he posted one of the girls on his Instagram, and then this other website posted me in a shoulder mount. I can't remember the name of them, but it had almost 2000 likes.

That's crazy. Did you tell your friends you were dancing tonight? What do they think about this?

They wanted to come, but we only got a plus one. I invited my boyfriend.

What does your boyfriend think of it?

He was like 'I don't really like this outfit,' so he's standing around the base of the pole, and I'm like 'Oh my god.'

Oh my god.

He's like 'I won't yell at you until tomorrow. I'll let you shine tonight.'
