Emmy Rossum Went Commando For the First Time at the Golden Globes

Actress Emmy Rossum is no stranger to the red carpet, but tonight at the Golden Globes she managed to have a fashion first. “This is commando!” she told Yahoo Style in reference to her Armani Privé gown. “It’s a very thin material, so we tried a variety of different contraptions. None of which worked. This is my first time [going commando]. It’s terrifying. I’m not enjoying it.” So did her fiancé Sam Esmail—whose show Mr. Robot is Golden Globe was nominated — follow suit? “He never goes commando,” she laughed. Would he consider it? “I don’t think so,” said Esmail. I like to cover up a lot.”
“We coordinated [our outfits],” continued Rossum. “It was one stop shopping. It was really fun that we got to do it together, but also it takes the pressure off me that the night is really about him. I wanted to pick something that would make him look good. I liked two dresses and he chose this one. It’s his night.”
They both accented their looks with accessories by Van Cleef & Arpels. “I have no idea how much it’s worth, but I know I’m responsible for it if I lose it,” said Rossum. “But it has two safeties.”
