The 68th Emmy Awards ceremony takes place this Sunday, Sept. 18, and fan favorites like Game of Thrones, House of Cards, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, are among the shows in the running for a trophy for the Outstanding Drama Series and the Outstanding Comedy Series categories.
Top actors and actresses in this year’s pool make for an especially competitive race with Claire Danes, Viola Davis, Taraji P. Henson, Tatiana Maslany, Keri Russell, and Robin Wright all nominated in the Lead Actress in a Drama Series category. The gentlemen who are up for a Lead Actor in a Drama Series honor face an equally competitive pool with talents like Kyle Chandler, Rami Malek, Bob Odenkirk, Matthew Rhys, Liev Schreiber, and Kevin Spacey.
Black-ish star Anthony Anderson and Gilmore Girls leading lady Lauren Graham announced the nominees for this year’s showdown in July. The 2016 Emmy Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, will air live from L.A.’s Microsoft Theater on Sunday, Sept. 18, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
