Emma Watson Shut Down Rumors About Being Engaged
Emma Watson and her boyfriend, Leo Robinton, are not engaged. Over the weekend, however, reports that he'd proposed made headlines and Watson cleared the air with two tweets. No, they're not engaged, she assured her Twitter followers — the story was old and debunked — and any stories implying that she was were simply clickbait. The two have been together since April 2020.
"Dear Fans, rumours about whether I'm engaged or not, or whether my career is 'dormant or not' are ways to create clicks each time they are revealed to be true or untrue," she wrote. It wasn't the only rumor she cleared up. She also addressed past stories saying that she'd retired from acting.

In a follow-up tweet, she reiterated that any news having to do with her career or relationship would be coming from her.
"If I have news – I promise I'll share it with you," she added.

Back in February, the Daily Mail reported — much to the ire of her fans — that Watson was "not taking on new commitments." However, just hours after the story broke, producer Jason Weinberg told Entertainment Weekly that "Emma's social media accounts are dormant but her career isn't." Her Instagram bio reads: "Emma's official Instagram page is currently dormant and is not being updated."
Watson's last project was 2019's Little Women adaptation.
