Emma Stone brought a dainty footwear silhouette to the 2024 BAFTA Film Awards red carpet on Sunday. The actress, who won Best Actress for her work in Yorgos Lanthimos’ “Poor Things,” wore head-to-toe Louis Vuitton for the event, which was held at the Royal Festival Hall in London.

Stone’s footwear choice was a pair of custom barely-there sandals that resembled Pantone’s color of the year 2024 “peach fuzz.” The strappy shoe style featured a stiletto heel of at least 3 inches.

Her sandals matched the rest of the outfit keeping her look monochromatic. Stone’s dress was a custom orange silk jacquard and organza one-shoulder bustier gown with balloon sleeves.

The actress was accessorized with a yellow gold and platinum diamond necklace, earrings, and ring, as well as a yellow gold, platinum, garnet and diamond ring from the Louis Vuitton High Jewelry collection.

Barely-there sandals are characterized by their minimalist design, often with very thin straps and a simplistic structure that provides just enough material to hold the shoe onto the foot. The name “barely there” comes from the idea that, when worn, these sandals should look almost invisible, giving the impression that the wearer is barefoot. This style of sandals is popular for its versatility and can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.

The style turned out to be a trend on the BAFTAs red carpet this year, with many stars wearing a similar shoe silhouette, including Hannah Waddingham, Sabrina Elba, Daisy Edgar-Jones and more.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards (BAFTAs) is an annual event honoring outstanding achievements in the film and television industry. Established in 1947, the prestigious awards celebrate excellence in various categories, including acting, directing and cinematography. The event serves as a significant precursor to the Oscars, making it a key event in the awards season.
