Emma Stone Just Snagged the Sweetest Little Malibu Beach Cottage—Take a Peek Inside
Emma Stone might barely be 30 years old, but the actress has already racked up a lifetime’s worth of achievements. From starring alongside Hollywood heavyweights to scoring an Oscar for her performance in the 2016 musical La La Land, Stone has solidified herself as a bona fide star of the silver screen.
And in a move that seems, these days, like an A-lister rite of passage, the actress has now gone ahead and realized another dream: Buying a gorgeous home on a stunning slice of California coastline.
According to Variety, the midcentury ranch-style abode on the bluffs of Malibu is one of a pair of Los Angeles-area real estate finds purchased by Stone within the past year. (The other, a 1920s Spanish-style cottage in L.A.’s Westwood neighborhood, was reportedly scooped up for a family member.) While it’s unclear what the actress plans to do with her new Malibu digs, one can only suspect there’ll be lots of R&R involved.

Perched on 3.2 acres of steep hillside leading down to the Pacific Coast Highway, the two-parcel plot of land is lush with native gardens, including old-growth eucalyptus and yucca trees, and never-ending ocean views. The site’s natural beauty is initially what attracted the previous owners to the home, which underwent a full-on cosmetic renovation before falling into Stone’s hands. Thanks to the former owners, the modest 1,800-square-foot abode also earned its own place in the spotlight with a feature in Cottages & Gardens magazine in 2018.

With updated interiors starring a white-washed palette and floor-to-ceiling view-facing windows, it’s easy to see what attracted Stone to the home. Natural light floods nearly every room, from the boho-chic living space with vaulted ceilings to the window-wrapped master bedroom. Spacious brick patios also serve as natural extensions of the living spaces, with long tree-shaded areas perfect for alfresco entertaining and tiny nooks ideal for curling up solo with a good book.
Like many celebs, Stone’s recent acquisitions mean the Hollywood sweetheart is racking up quite the real estate portfolio. According to Variety, in addition to the Westwood and Malibu cottages, Stone also owns two swanky properties in Manhattan. But which one’s The Favourite? Our money’s definitely on this Malibu gem.
