Like so many other celebrity couples past and present (Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson; Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost), Saturday Night Live played an integral part in Emma Stone and Dave McCary's love story. Without the show, their paths may have never crossed — but luckily, they did back in 2016 when Emma hosted SNL and starred in a skit that Dave wrote.

The two ended up hitting it off, but their relationship became one of Hollywood's best-kept secrets. It took nearly a year since they first met for everyone to realize they were dating and a whole year after that for them to make their couple debut. Keeping things as private as possible, the actress and the former SNL director quietly got married in September 2020 and secretly welcomed a daughter, Louise Jean, the following spring.

Here, take a look back at Emma Stone and Dave McCary's relationship timeline.
