We all look forward to awards shows as we get to see the actors, writers, directors, and talent that make the art we love get the praises they deserve. At the 2024 Golden Globes, there was plenty of love for films like Barbie and Oppenheimer, TV shows like Succession and The Bear, and the musical artists that helped bring it all to life (hi, Billie Eilish and Taylor Swift). However, on the red carpet, we get to celebrate the beauty and fashion trends that inspire us off the screen.

At the 81st annual Golden Globes, it was more than clear that we are still feeling the effects of the year of the bob. However, when we zoomed in on the details, it was also clear that cherry-inspired trends still have us in a chokehold thanks to stars like Emma Stone.

Stone, who was also one of the many (many) stars sporting a retro flippy bob, accepted the award for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy Motion Picture wearing one of 2023's hottest red shades: cherry mocha.

Paired with the simple opulence of her malt shop hairstyle and her fittingly gold custom Louis Vuitton gown, the A-list actor wore the vampy '90s shade on her nails. Each of them matched with the same deep red color. Much darker than the red hue worn by Dua Lipa and more spot-on with the color Jennifer Aniston wore, Stone chose the perfect edgy red shade. She finished her look with the aforementioned bob by Mara Roszak using Roz haircare, and glowing makeup by Rachel Goodwin using Charlotte Tilbury.

Luckily for us, you don't need an invite to the Golden Globes to pull off the classic nail color. Plus, we have you covered with the step by step if you're looking to try what is shaping up to be one of the top nail colors of the year.

First, like any manicure, you'll need to remove any lingering nail polish with nail polish remover. After that, apply cuticle oil to soften and push back your cuticles. Then, cut and file your nails to the desired length before buffing and applying your favorite base coat.

With your nails prepped its time for color. For the cherry mocha shade that took over TikTok, use DND's Cherry Mocha Lacquer ($8), though any other deep red or wine red color would get you right on par with Stone. Regardless of which polish you grab, paint two to three coats on each nail, then seal it in with your favorite top coat. Then, you will practically be ready for award season.
