Emma Slater Reveals That Working With Ex Sasha Farber on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Is “Not a Nightmare”

Dancing With the Stars season 32 is in full force, and there’s already so much to discuss between the loaded list of contestants and Ariana Madix’s ~iconic~ re-creation of her red revenge dress. The latest topic of discussion, though, is Emma Slater and Sasha Farber’s relationship status. ICYMI, the pro dancers have been on the competition series since 2013 and had an on-and-off romantic relationship off the dance floor for a few years. Sasha even proposed to Emma during a DWTS live taping, which was a moment that will forever go down in the show’s history.

According to Us Weekly, Emma filed for divorce from Sasha in February 2023 citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split. And, dear reader, now it’s October 2023, and the former flames are both competing as pro dancers on DWTS season 32.

In a new interview with E! News, Emma opened up about what it’s like to compete alongside her ex-husband on the show’s latest season. “It’s not a nightmare at all,” she told the outlet. “We support each other so much that I want the very best for Sasha. I love him and Alyson together on the show. We support each other, very, very truly.”

That support comes in the form of helping each other with choreography every week, according to Emma, who is paired with Mauricio Umansky this season. “I’ll help him with his dance and he’ll help me with my dance,” she dished. “We do that, all us pros together. I don’t feel that competition at all with him.”
